Oh that's a totally different story. Tracking GPS collars/transmitters is way outside GaiaGPS and having maps to navigate roads with a motor vehicle.

I would agree with you that Garmin is the go to for that.

That’s what I’m using on an iPad. Haven’t mounted it yet but plan to tackle that project pretty soon (this year)

yeah they're about a half an inch, not very much but it's the only CB drop kit I could find online...I guess there used to be one that drops it a couple inches or more and straightens out the driveline but I haven't seen it for sale anywhere in awhile.

yeah I've tried messing around with the Backcountry Navigator app on my phone, but my phone is a few years old and won't hold a battery charge worth a crap, and doesn't stay plugged in while I'm driving...so it's pretty worthless on the trail. I'd like to get a tablet device of some kind that I can run and mount to the dash, not as big as an iPad (or as expensive) but something a bit bigger than my phone

BCN is coming out with an update called BCN XP which will be similar to Gaia from the looks of it. But possibly better. Time will tell.

As for carrier bearing drop kits...this is a way better option.

    http://stores.streetacos.com/carrier-bearing-bracket-1-1-2-95-5-04-tacoma-4-lower-rear-lift/

What I have. It lowers and angles the bearing to keep it straight with the drive shaft which increases wear life.

Way better than a 1/2" plate..might as well buy a few washers for $2 instead

Not not as well known. I've had mine for a long time. Works well I think.

I'm interested in the application of this drop bracket. It should help my drive shaft angle since I'm getting 2"ish of rear lift from my dakars. I just wonder why I haven't seen anyone else mention it before.

Mine lift and SPC UCAs are on the way from Wheeler's. Did you have any trouble finding someone who knew how to do an alignment with them?

Most people don't know about it. It's common to drop the CB a bit though. Lots use just washers or something else

It seems to be a truck-by-truck basis. I have the OME "3-inch" lift and have no vibes on my 204k mile truck. Others have continued issues and a drop helps or solves it.

...A short drop from the viewpoint down into the canyon and we were almost immediately in what I think was the most breathtaking canyon of the trip - Canyon sin Nombre.

Not only were the colors amazing, but so was the geology. The entire area had been uplifted in giant synclines and anticlines, and then crushed and folded into amazing shapes. I wasn't the only one who wanted to stop and get out for a closer look - we were both hopping out of the truck on a regular basis at this point.

See tons of photos of what it looked like and read the rest of the adventure at

always been a lot there. Its the largest hiking trail head in Canyonlands...least since i've been going since 2012.

There was that year. Just last week..nothing. Not when we came in until we had already started(first group) and no one when we came out. But they check you have your permit. Probably should do a better job, when we were coming out a freakin Excursion was trying to make there way up lol No permit, didn't "know" about it and quickly turned around.

Some of the trail even was filled in a few years ago with cement and asphalt. A lot of it has gotten rougher though.

This goes to show that not anyone can make a map. This is one of the worst maps I have ever seen. BackCountry Navigator has totally failed to get me interested in their product. Also, they don't have the USFS MVUM maps, so to me it's just another poor implementation of maps attempting to cater to people who want maps for "adventuring".

    Example:
