Is any car or truck advertised mileage real world ? I know a guy that just bought a new Dodge Ram and can't understand why mileage isn't like the sticker in the window lol.

I can easily exceed the sticker mpg in the Camry. The Tacoma is seeing a little less than advertised mpg.

    Not anymore...
Look up the Tier 3 drive schedule, who is allowed to do the testing and who was likely to have done the testing.

How many miles do you have? Gas mileage should get better once the truck gets some miles under its belt.

I agree. I can do the same in the Taco but you have to drive appropriately. I'm not real world for most people.

I'm getting at least 30mpg on my commute through the mountainous midwest on 35s, you should be extremely concerned. In fact, I'd probably sell the truck as fast as possible. I hear the new Rav 4 is alright

Is this necessary? Being a dick to a stranger?

I see you mention a Prius. I also noticed the OP said he was expecting 40+ MPG. Thats why it makes sense you mentioned a Prius. The context is clearly there to see.

You know, just maybe the guy doesn't know that the window stickers are nothing like what you get in real life. Maybe a little civility to convey that would be more beneficial to the world. But no, lets all be dicks to each other. That will likely make us all happier people/

Its a true fact, the less you care about MPG, the bigger your internet peen is.

If you stayed under 65 mph you’d see a marked improvement.

after break in it will probably improve slightly. However google the mpgs of the colorado, galdiator, ranger and tacoma and compare them. you'll see they are all about the same.

Winter gas has only 1.7% less energy than summer gas. The issues people attribute to winter gas are almost entirely ambient temperature and behavioral related and not the fuel.

There's a speed threshold where once you cross it the mileage goes to shit in our trucks. In my experience, 75 mph is past that threshold and gas mileage will suffer quite a bit. In addition, if you used cruise control, I find that it is pretty shitty too, and the gas mileage suffers even more.
