Looking to replace the muffler. First Tacoma and I don't yet know what the exhaust muffler inlet and outlet diameters are. From the looks of it I assume 2.5 but haven't crawled under there to mic them yet. Anyone already know the diameter of inlet and outlet pipes from the muffler?

2.5 is correct. What muffler are you going with?

Also FWIW you'll want the center in/ offset out for the best fit.

Thanks for that info. Looking at the existing stock muffler it looked like offset in + offset out to me.

I haven't decided yet. I know Flowmaster is readily available but they seem too heavy to me. I imagine weight is not as key as it is for my trans am or my bike but it is just the way I think. So, on the list are Borla, Flowmaster, and Magnaflow for now.

I recently put a Dynomax super turbo on mine and I'm happy with it. Dynomax part # 17748 for the 2.5 center in/offset out. I got mine from Amazon for $53 shipped. Just another option for you!

Thought the stock pipe was 2.25 ?? The 2.5 mufflers work by using adapters.

The inner diameter is 2.25 making the outer slightly larger. My muffler shop didn't have to use a spacer and it came out perfect. The factory exhaust is 2.25 and the TRD cat back exhaust is 2.5. It's always good to have a really good muffler shop!!!!

Can anyone of you tell me if a Flowmaster super 44 Muffler aluminized part number 942547 fit my 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off ROAD? I was told that it will work only a 2016?
