Does anyone know if a 2nd gen radiator and ac compressor will fit like the oem on my '16?

Does anyone know if a 2nd gen radiator and ac compressor will fit my '16, like the air filters that have different part number but work on the 3th gens. Thanks.

That's a good question. Unfortunately I do not know the answer to it though. I know a lot of parts can transfer over. I have had a similar question about part cross overs on a rack and pinion. All 4 models look the same in pics 2wd/4wd 2nd gen and 2wd/4wd 3rd gen. No one has been able to confirm for sure or been able to explain the differences in 2wd vs 4wd or 2nd gen vs 3rd gen.
This probably doesn't help much. But probably going to need to pull it an see if mounting, inlet and outlet are in the same locations. They should be close as not much has really changed.

While many 2nd and 3rd gen parts are interchangeable they will normally have the same part numbers such as the brake rotors, calipers, hubs etc. The radiator and ac compressors have different part numbers and are substantially different in price. For example, the 3rd gen ac compressors are 3 times more expensive than the 2nd gen compressors. You may do a search for Toyota oem discount parts and there are many dealers that will come up that you put your truck information in and find any part numbers you want. You can also put in a 2nd truck and compare the part numbers. If you want to find used parts then go to car-part.com and get a great price. Most body shops get their parts this way. Hope this helps.

I have good info that says 2nd gen 4wd racks are the same as 4wd 3rd gen racks even though they are different part numbers.

I think they might be hoping it would basically be the same part for less money.

Totally different engine and heat dissipation requirements. Do what you want tho. I would spend the money and get the right part. Geez you spend $35K on the vehicle. Don't skimp.

If I needed to get a part for my truck I would use the correct year, model, engine, trans. and VIN # because you would be taking the risk of completely dismantling the truck and finding out discrepencies too late. plus his trucks only a 2016 how could his radiator and AC compressor be on the way out this soono_Oplus if u go to the CAMELBACK site it shows different part numbers and prices for the radiator for both auto and manual trans on a 2.7l engine between 2016 and a 2013 model truck https://parts.camelbacktoyota.com/p...SYSTEM&group=COOLING SYSTEM&subgroup=RADIATOR https://parts.camelbacktoyota.com/p...SYSTEM&group=COOLING SYSTEM&subgroup=RADIATOR

Because the truck gets driven day and night around farms with a lot of idling and also had to get 2 batteries replaced under warranty, truck has 40k miles. Ac compressor is good it just leaked out all of the freon.

Seems like strange parts to be replaced on a 4 year old truck. Did you wreck it??
