I got lucky and no threads we're fucked up so it just threaded right back in it's hole.
@JDAM came just as I got it back together. He said I can't get to you there's a big pile of snow. I'm going up to 47. I said hold up I just got it back together I'll see you in a minute. A little team ramrod from Jarrod and I and made it my bitch. After having my steering fall apart I wasn't about to roll over and backtrack 5miles to go the easy route. F that. After I punched through a guy in a stock suburban followed.

Damn didnt see any of these posts I would have head out too glad someone was out there quick.

My vibes is probably just the needle bearing. Didnt seem to go away in 4wd but I think I was just being anal about any remaining. Checked any play from the carrier to the CV in 2wd vs 4wd and it was a worlds difference between passenger and driver in 2wd. With the former being stiff from the carrier and the driver side having about an inch of play. 4wd play was gone on the driver side.

Those of you that replaced the needle bearing with the ECGS clamshell bearing, was that something you noticed before replacement as well?

I would have towed that pile of snow out of my way.

On a related note, there's a company that sells modified tundra steering racks that swap into the 2nd gen Tacomas which supposedly can handle the abuse I often inflict on my truck. I think that's a sign...

The last time you found me I was following your cousins directions, and he directed me face first into a hole down at the river, where I ended up spending the night.
