Anything over 60 and your mpgs will start to drop.

I've been able to reliably beat the stickered MPG in every car I've owned the taco...not by as much. Keeping the tires inflated, keeping the speed reasonable, and avoiding using the brakes. Doesn't matter how you accelerate so long as you aren't lugging it up to speed or floored and wrapping the tach all the way out.

I also didn't get the feeling the OP was "pissed", it seemed like they were asking a simple question to determine whether or not they needed to look into the issue further.

But you know, some people just like to prove how bad azz they are. I bet they red line every merge just to show everyone that they're bad azz.

I get 17-18mpg on my taco with 285s, lift, and armor. I also live in a hilly area as well.

You need to understand that the EPA MPG ratings are lab controlled with "supposedly" consistent variables of speed, acceleration, and cruising in a controlled temperature and altitude. Rarely does anyone get the MPG on the sticker. It's just a measurement to compare against other vehicles. I always look at the trade rags and real-world reports from real individuals. If you dig through this website much you'll see that most owners are getting about 17-20 MPG from a stock V6. Lifting or adding larger tires will reduce that. When you think about it, if you are getting 2 miles less per gallon and you run the 18.5 gallon tank dry, that's 37 more miles less per tank which is about 2 gallons and $4.20 more per fill up. I burn through a tank a week. Getting $4.20 savings a week doesn't affect my standard of living that much.

Has nothing to do with being rich, but very few vehicles get the mpg on the sticker. They just dont.
Its not a tacoma issue as much as its an industry wide lie.

ya, but the post above makes refernce to $270 not being a big deal, that multiple days worth of work for some, myself included. Others that don't think its worth paying attention to, must be rich at least in relation to those like me.

Well it’s like 5 bucks a week. I can see his point. I have never once complained about my mpgs, and have never felt the “burn” that some feel over a drop in mpgs from 22 to 20, for example.

I guess I am saying, its not a 270 dollar loss. Its what it costs.

And it’s much more than just that lie. It’s multiple ways to fudge the numbers to reflect “great mpgs”. And people soak it the fuck up like it’s gospel.

When I can afford it, a 4 pack of beer worth drinking is between 13-15 bucks here. A local place has drafts for 5 bucks once a week, Drinking with Lincoln.

Yes. I’m not rich, but I’m not sweating that to the point I would dislike my vehicle.
