I noticed BFG has two separate versions of the 255/85R16 KM3 listed on their website: https://www.bfgoodrich.com.au/auto/tyres/mud-terrain-t-a-km3

One is 123 load index (E load), which we've known about for a while. The real surprise is the second version with a 119 load index.

I think 119 load index in a 255/85R16 corresponds to a D load tire. If this is accurate, we'll finally have a modern D-load 255/85R16 tire to choose from.

The E-load 255/85R16 just appeared on Tire Rack's website, but I can't find any information about the D-load version. Has anyone else been able to find anything? I'm especially interested in the weight of the D-load tire.

    I haven’t seen any 255/85r16 km3’s..
Just saw a possible special order the other day, which was a first, but no in stock anywhere. See plenty of km2’s still listed..

That's the Australia website but hopefully they offer that tire in North America. Save yourself a few lbs and maybe a softer ride!

I'm shopping around for the KM3 in 255/85 at the moment. Looks like the mystery load range D option is not showing up anymore on the above site. Interesting...

Try calling Discount Tire.....Tire Rack doesn’t always show what’s actually available from the manufacturers

I can't sell to the public but I work for a distributor. I ran the part # and the D loads aren't even loaded into Michelin's b2b portal yet, so they must not be in production.

I have the 10 ply's in my DC so those should be readily available.

I just received my E load 255/85R16. Getting them mounted up today.

The D load would be great if they ever bring it to market, but I'm doubtful. The D load part number has disappeared from the Australian BFG site now.
