The idea of the triple sticks is to move the rear case shifters up so they’re all in one spot?
    This one?

Pricey but Might be worth not having to fab it myself.

Yep, requires disassembly of the case to modify the rails to be independently shifted though.

That’s the crossmember too. Was totally worth it for me so that everything lined up right without spending a metric shit ton of time on it. You don’t have to go to one though since you can retain your stock crossmember on ifs.

Wait. I’m confusing myself I think. Adding the crawler will add 1 new shifter that will sit behind the trans. The old case shifter will he moved back.

Where is this third shifter coming from?

    From your stock rear case
    -Hi-low range shifter
    -2wd-4wd

    From your crawl box
    -Hi-low range shifter

    Looks like:
    triples.jpg

The benefits are that you can run all your shifters though the stock center console.

Downside is the $300 cost and you have to take your stock case apart.

You can't modify the stock shifter into a forward position without twin sticking it because of some wonky angles it would create with the j-pattern. The RADesigns kit, lets you go to a linkage shifting case instead of top-shifting that allows you to move the shifters around.

I just left my rear case shifter in the stock location since I have an ammo can center console and it wasn't in the way of anything. Stock shifters and locations is simple and cheap but you'll give up a cupholder depending on your interior.

With a full interior and single shifters

External view of triples and linkages...easier to see than explain

    shifters 2.jpg

One other thing I'd add is that I had modify my crawl box shifter to fit into the stock floor boot and center console. I just cut the shifter off right above the base and welded in some 1/2" rod to push the shifter handle forward a couple inches and through the stock boot.

You don't have to take the case apart, you need to do the twin stick mod which is you unscrew the factory detent spring cap on the rear case and drop the pill looking thing out. I modified my crawl box shifter by putting it in a vice and bending it, if my pussy ass can do it, anyone can. You should not have to use a welder at all for any of the install. I ran mine with the shifter moved back for a few years and losing my cupholders sucked (you lose both of them). I ended up getting them back using a 2wd console and the triple setup. I did mine hack as fuck though the first time around.

Also don't bother with a new crossmember, run the stock one, I did for 8yrs with no issue. Also if you ditch the stock cross member you lose the ability to keep you all pro skids.

Just call me after you order it, I have had the cases in and out so many times I can do it in my sleep. It's one of these projects that looks intimidating but is not bad, lots of little tricks to it and there are zero instructions.

I think you’re thinking of a mini-truck case twin stick. Those, you could just punch the pin out and go from there. Chain drive cases need grinding on the shift rail

Thanks for the shifter explanation. Makes perfect sense. If this was a second gen with their 37 cup holders,i wouldn’t even consider the triple sticks. Real estate in the 1st gen cab is a Premium though, so I’ll probably do it.

Or I could just find one of those consoles that has the passenger side cup holder like your yeti cup is in and save a lot of money. Haha.
Thanks, Geoff. Will definitely hit you up when it’s install time. Good call about the skids. Hasn’t thought about that.

I have zero input on the crawl box talk but I will say that Marlin makes some of the most boring wheeling videos on the face of the planet. Watching someone crawl over ANYTHING at idle is THE worse wheeling to be even remotely close to the vicinity of. At least take it out of your 4,647,830:1 gear and use the 1,543,765:1 gear. I mean, my God! If there is a better way to completely ruin anyone's enthusiasm for being slightly interested in wheeling, it hasn't been discovered yet. I love wheeling and am considering burning my truck and extracting every last memory of what fun wheeling looks like just so I won't have to explain to my grand children that once upon a time, humans weren't the most boring living organism to devise a device that allows you to travel infinitely faster than your slow, organic body but instead chose to use that precious invention to become infinitely slower and lethargic to the point of changing entire generations of thoughts of what was previously perceived as "not fun".

    welcome to the club.

Also, annoyed I didn't wait and order when you did. Fucking 10% off site wide sale going on this week. No response from them about crediting my order, either.
My order also has not shipped yet. Yes they sent me a tracking number, which for most of the shit I order, means it's shipping within 24 hours. Not so with Marlin, likely will still be 6 week+ wait.

like a mini Escalade. I like it.
