We have carpet in a couple rooms but for the most part its either linoleum or floating vinyl floor. I dont really care for carpet especially with a dog in the house because eventually the dog is going to find the carpet and pee on it...cant get all that out no matter what you do. We carpet in the bedroom that needs to come out.

I did the 2 part Epoxy thing in my last garage it turned out okay and you have to make sure you clean the surface good and get a good bonding agent down and apply it evenly.....

    did similar.

I originally had R-19 and the improper size, this was a HUGE improvement.

This weekend i also installed a new front door. Ours was old, original and ugly. Also drafty and just plain installed incorrectly.

I have since painted the trim on the outside where the black is visible. The previous door had about 4 pieces of trim on that i took off.

Also added solar exterior walk up lights since its dark out front.

Original door you can see here.

Also received all my new windows so i can finally replace the single pane and paint the front of the house and remove the ugly rock under the window.

it could definitely be worse. But for now it stays. Im removing the whole left side from the side of the house down to the street for an RV parking slab all the way down the side of the house. Put a gate in line with the front of the house to the neighbor fence so i can put the boat away and "hide it". I will probably keep rock around the tree in my front yard then grass everywhere else and leave the rock closes to the house that i just redid. Long term though.

I need to decide if i want to just sack up and spray the house once i replace the front window and remove the rock under it that is on the wall or just match it for now and worry about changing color later.

End goal is a light grey, white trim. Im not a huge fan of the Robbin Blue but that may be tolerable once i paint the front correctly.

PO had termite damage replaced and i bought the house before they did any painting or any work inside so i could make it my own, so its just primered as you can see.

Ok home improvement folks. My electricians are all but done, but I have a question. So they ran new cable and ethernet drops to a few rooms for me as an addon...just to blank plates in the rooms. No big deal, I can add the connectors and plates in the rooms. Problem is...they just ran the wire to the outside of the house and dumped it. See photo below. I'm not worried as much about the cable drops as I'm sure you just do some 2 to 1 connectors (or 5 to 1 if that exists since its 5 cable drops)....but what do I do with the 6 ethernet drops out here? I have Google fiber so do these need to be connected to the router? Can I somehow join them all into 1 or 2 instead of 6? I'm gonna talk to the electricians about it too but before I burn any more bridges since this was just an addon I want to know what the work entails..

Blue is cat 6 black is cable..

What is in that box that the blue cables are coming from?

For the Ethernet cables to work they need to be connected to an Ethernet switch. Where it the google fiber router? Can you include some pictures of it?

That box is just there to cover an access to the crawl space where some piping goes through.

The fiber runs to their box on the outside of the house and then through the wall to another box on the wall, which has an ethernet port that my router connects to.

I'm not home at the moment but I will take pictures when I get there.

Out of curiosity, would it be better to build out cabinets and put them on legs and just sit it flush with my garage wall, or try to mount cabinets into the concrete wall? I don't think drilling holes in my foundation/garage wall is advisable, but I could be wrong.

Looks good - I'm assuming that the google fiber box is also your wifi device too. So for those extra cables to work they need to be plugged into your google fiber network box. You could do that by pulling them back to the location of the google box, or by putting a switch near where the cables are run and pulling an additional line to the google box.

A switch will need power and to be protected from the elements, so there is that to consider.

One end of the ethernet cable plugs into your computer, printer, TV, etc and the other end plugs into a switch. All of the switches need to be connected to the router so they can access each other and the internet.[IMG]
