Why is dual voltage important? That is a 240v machine. That is better than 120v.

The seller has no idea what . It is a Mig welder there is no cutter involved

Go try it out if they have no shielding find some flux core check the polarity .

Put it through it`s paces full out put and control only then thing about reaching for the money..

Unless The price is not going to effect things if you bought a paper weight

It's a transformer machine. I would like to know how the unit would be non functional? There is really not much that could fail the unit.

I'm sure you see everything in your shop, but someone wouldwould to work hard to make that unit worthless.

The M-10 whip is base model, but it will more than do the job.

From pics he is probably a welder. Theres a second Miller in the background. We probably upgraded and wants to clear the garage fast or it's an estate sale . I sold my father in laws 135cu tanks for dirt cheap after he pasted. I had no idea what they cost. Later found out when I bought a 110cu tank.

    Thank you.

1st impression is not enough heat and/or moving too fast. Other than that, others can give a better suggestion. My stick welding days are behind me.

Try a slight oscilation (not weave) in the rod, middle with take care of itself. Just try and tie in to the sides of the joint a little. 3G 7018 is one of the most difficult to get a nice looking bead. Takes a lot of practice.

Semi finished with my bumper. I need to take it off this weekend and weld the backside. I also want to clean up a couple beads that don't look too good.

    Lots of sail boat fuel
Try bumping up to 110 and going a bit slower. The biggest thing about going up hill is the heat carries. It also likes to build over the center of the weld too.

To start out try this. The puddle should form and if you get the timing right it'll get a little bit of a swirl.

If it builds up, space the loops up longer or move faster.

Eventually the better motion is a lot smaller than a swirl. It's a slight motion side to side. A micro version of this move. As said above, not an actual weave.

Who can tell might be a board

    might be a fan motor

    Might have a bad gun

so many things could have failed

might be down right awesome !

Although my Boss would discourage me having these thoughts better to take your $120.00 tell you why your welder or plasma cutter is unable to be repaired

Too cold for 1/8”. And hold at the sides longer. Like the other guy stated, travel up in a Z pattern. If you want to learn stick the easy way, start with 3/32 size electrodes. Less metal and heat. Easier to do especially with 3G(vertical).

Make sure the rod is just bareeeeely angled up(as in pointing up. Not down). Like 10 degrees max. And just goto one side. Pause. Other side. Pause. Up to the other side again. Pause. and repeat.

Watch the puddle is something I cannot stress enough as I struggle with it myself. But the puddle under the rod really will tell you everything about your weld.
