I've been busy working on my newest project, once I get everything installed I'll be starting the rear bumper and sliders. I've also got to finish the front bumper. Then off to paint for a Cement paint job.

If all this rain in NC would stop I could get something done, I really need to get a new building built this year.

@RickyTaco77 You think you could do something that would effectively be a 3/4 height rack (need ~28" above the bed floor clearance) but that mounts to the bed floor and wheel wells like the Brute Force rack? I've been looking for something like that but being on the east coast cuts down on options.

Hey Sir, I'm just a hour north of the NC border up here in VA and have been looking into a rack to go above my hard factory TC. Considering the KB Voodoo crossbars but I'd much rather have it sit higher so I can keep full use of the TC and retract it all the way if need be.

I won't be using it for a RTT but instead will use it for cargo basket, cargo box, and / or bicycles, etc.

I'd prefer it to be aluminum or stainless and sit just high enough to allow use of the TC. Have you ever made something like this before? I'll PM you my contact information too. Thanks

Can you do it with bend aluminum tubing and some light plate on the sides for mounting boxes and tools? Trying to save weight so long as the price is right.

I'll see if I can get a sketch together of what I want to do and get with you in a few weeks... gotta make sure that tax bill is taken care of first.

Yes aluminum is an option but not usually worth it. A steel rack doesn't weigh much and aluminum is expensive and doesn't offer much of a weight advantage over what could be done in thinner walled steel tubing and still be stronger.

So is that a no for being able to do a bed rack over the Bakflip MX4 bed cover? I just want to know if it can be done so I dont have to lose the bed cover.

You do some quality work! I have always wanted someone to custom make a rack for me. If I wasn't going back to school I would seriously consider starting my bed build again.

To get a frame over a shell you have to get access to the bed rail which will either raise the shell or you would have to modify the shell to be able to securely install a rack over it. If roof top weight is a concern then an internal frame would be better.

I'll be getting some of my plasma cut side plates in hopefully tomorrow then I'll build a rack off those to check everything out. If you need a rack I should have one ready in about a week.

Your racks are sweet. If I didn't have a topper, I'd see if you could make me something like this.

I'm looking for bed bars. 10" tall. I was hoping that two would be strong enough to hold up a RTT with two adults?

I'm in Va. so could take a road trip.
