    I don't think there is any additional stress due to the bends in the rod.

    If something has a 90* bend in it, of course it's easier to bend.

    The rod is not tight, it moves freely. It also takes very little force to move the lock mechanism. So I assume it wont bend any further. I guess I will see over time.

    If talking about going to "stock"...you can not....once the TINY holes are drilled you are there for the duration. The holes are covered by the ABS ? front cover.

    Same thing from me...... never touched that and I think it may have come from the actuator kit...confused me a ton but not some thing you need at all!

    This kit is great. Super easy install.

    I was hesitant if it was needed at first but I am glad I no longer need to check if I locked the tailgate.
