Driving in traffic tends to come up in these threads. it's usually to point out why MTs suck.
I had an epiphany in my truck this morning during rush hour.

While I don't love driving an MT in true stop and go freeway traffic, I really enjoy light traffic with a stick. it makes you look ahead and see what the whole line of traffic is doing and gauge your gear choice accordingly. it's really fun to see how smooth you can make it and use as little brake as possible.

While one isn’t universally better than the other (because we all have different needs), both are different, and unequal. But at least what virtue one transmission lacks, the other makes up for. Silver linings and all that.

My 20 minute morning commute has one stop sign. I don't think I'd fare well in the big city.

I choose commute based on avoiding stop signs, or taking a street with a stop sign to avoid an intersection with a light.

I'd love to see some work done to convert a 3G taco to the FJ manual case. We already have a manual hub aftermarket option for our trucks, so we'd be basically there. I just don't want to have to drop G's to get it.

So far I think this is the first guy to do the FJ case swap on a 3rd gen. Check it out if you haven't, pretty cool. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fj-case-in-a-3rd-gen-tacoma.571689/

don't forget to fiddle with the stick at red lights
go through each position one by one (except reverse) don't wanna spook the one right behind you that is probably too close anyways

People whine about driving manual in traffic in North America. But the traffic in Yurp is way worse and nobody complains. Most of the time you can just let the truck idle in second and it will creep along.

MT was the reason I bought the Tacoma in the first place. Looking at a Ram 2500 but 2018 is the last year for MT. Kind of sad as snowflakes who can't think for themselves are driving auto manufacturers to cater to them.

I always thought of auto trans like mopeds. Lame. Everything is becoming automated now, which makes for shitty operators. Duck AT! See, even my auto-correct sucks.
