    I wonder if maybe a layer of clear coat will help the paint last a bit longer, I didn't even think of that but I still have some clear coat left from when I did my fender.

    definitely. i'd do 2 light and then a final heavier coat.

    You looking for one? Mine drove me crazy cause the back flap never stayed velcroed to the tailgate...and then it took me months to get the Velcro off the tailgate after I sold it. I had one of the original Softopper designs though, I'm sure they've made them better since then.

    I'll grab one in the morning, was just a quick and dirty paint job lol. Masked off the tire, lug nuts and stuffed some paper bags between the wheel and brakes and just went to town on them.
