So to start, I have a first gen tundra not a first gen tacoma.... but you guys should still be able to help me out. So my truck came from the factory with 13WE Calipers, but on my way home yesterday my passenger side caliper decided to lock up. I am gonna take this opportunity to upgrade my brakes to the 13WL calipers from the newer first gen tundras (03+). My wheels are 16x8 4.5 BS with +0 Offset (RRW RR1's if anyone is wondering). I am also running a 1.5 inch wheel spacer to clear my UCA's. Can anyone tell me if my wheels will fit over the rotor and caliper. Many people say that 16's fit fine, but I want to triple check before I spend $300 on the PowerStop brake kit.

    OME and worth every penny.
Might want to make sure the caliper is in fact messed up and not ABS but I think the spacer will make it work.

Jacked the truck up and wheel didn't want to spin, rotor was smoking, non abs truck. It is 1000% the caliper sticking

Most 16's fit fine, so you'll probably be OK. Before you buy the Powerstop kit, you could go down to Napa and buy a single 13WL and test fit it. Just remove the WE, but leave the brake line connected to it and bolt the WL on, and make sure the wheel fits over it.

Then, return the WL to Napa and buy the kit (or just buy a second for the other side at Napa).

Personally, I decided to go with Toyota parts over the Powerstop kit, because it seemed that OEM resulted in better stopping power (the whole point, right?) given the components and surface areas of the pads, etc.

Wrote it up here, and a comparison of parts here.

Good idea, never thought of that. I’m in a time pinch and need to have it done this weekend, so was planning on ordering the kit tonight so the kit would be here by the weekend, but this is probably what I should do. Thanks

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
There's a lot of write ups about this swap. One really good one with the writers experience of which parts, oem or Napa to use. Just search it. I used it as a guide also. Basically recommends Toyota rotors and pads with Napa calipers.

You're probably thinking of @turbodb's thread (above). It's a great write-up and I'll be using it when I do my tundra brakes...
