From what I hear it's not worth going anything but OEM unless you like taking advantage of the warranty of a generic remanufactured one...and spending your time swapping them out often.

Alas just about ever time I've seen an aftermarket rack used by someone it leaks in about a year badly..

The reason the oem one is so expensive is that it comes with new inner tie rods. Which toyosta charges 130 each for for some reason...so..bummer you just replaced them. Unless you didn't use oem inners in which case trail spare the aftermarket ones.

Well decided to do some maintenance on my 2000, has 146,000 miles. This weekend radiator cracked so that got replaced. Replacing the shocks and coils. Got the rear shocks swapped out today. After looking at the stock ones, I guess you could say it wa time.

I finally got my seats dialed in.
842CCF30-365A-4A35-9F07-2ECE10B588CE.jpg Thanks to witch doctor for selling me a pair of Corbeau seat brackets.

About 2 years ago I swapped out my stock buckets for leather seats from a Subaru XV Crosstrek.

From the get go there were obvious problems, and with that, my obvious mistake- didn't try out fitment first.

For starters they sat about an inch and half higher or more than stock. Passengers over 6’ tall were not comfortable at all, especially wheeling since they said there center of gravity was scary high. My wife who’s 5-7 wasn’t happy with that either. Most guys were almost hitting their head on the headliner, had to pitch the seat back to have head room so had to find a solution or go to new seats again.

For me as the driver the height was good for some reasons like seeing over the hood on trails, but I was hitting the top of my head trying to get my head out the window to spot myself.

Even the sun visor was an issue now since when it was down it was so low I couldn’t see under it.

The hood also produced a ton of glare from the higher sight line which sucked at night with car lights and sunrise/sunset. I alleviated that by bedlining my hood, and happy I did.

The second issue with sitting so high was my dog hated the new setup because she couldn’t get her head out the window. anymore. This issue I can’t solve since the seat backs are really tall, again, could have figured this out by going out and sitting in the seats in the oem car.A647A9F1-54E8-454E-B4F5-55DB214BC389.jpg
Total bitch getting them perfect, I dropped them as low as I could using angle to drop the height below the Corbeau sliders, still wanted as much range front to back as possible, lost a little from the stock Subaru sliders that traveled about 8” since the Corbeau brackets had about 2” less travel front to back.

Third and possibly worst issue for me, since they were from a 4 door vehicle they didn’t swing forward far enough for me to get into the back of the cab. I dealt with this for like 2 years, I don’t know why, it was a fix that literally took like an hour per seat. F3436A07-4579-488B-AC7B-B073D9F4738B.jpg Passenger side is how far it pitches forward now, driver side was as far as it went forward...for over 2 years. That forward lever is a height adjustment so I can still raise the seat a good 2+ inches when I’m on the trail.

    4E7EBBE4-22AE-4644-8E01-63CB44670E8A.jpg Huge improvement

Moved the truck at the office today as the owner needed to use the forklift and noticed what looks like power stearing fluid everywhere on the passanger side. It's all over what I'm guessing is the ac pump, and that flung it everywhere. Tomorrow to start the investigation as long as I dont work late.

How long have you had the Coilovers in the truck?

Might be time to change the bearing

Nope. Ended up buying some OEM lower control arms (I'm running shit tier parts store ones right now) and I'll put the energy suspension bushings on when I have everything taken apart on that job.

I am currently working on Paracording my steering wheel/ all the handles in my truck. Doing a certain pattern that if needed I can pull the whole thing apart in 5-10 seconds. Just finished all the handles in my truck.

Just did the timing belt, pulleys, waterpump and seals.

Side note, has anyone done the CS144 alternator swap? Were you able to run a YZZD3 oil filter with it?

Still don't know how you managed to destroy the lower eyelet...my bearings were noisy and clunky as hell for several months before I finally replaced them and when I took them out they just looked dirty.

15k is pretty low for needing to replace the bearings, I bet they just need to get blasted with some dry lubricant. Just stick the straw right where the bolt goes through the bearing and spray, it'll quiet them down.

I hit them with the hose and some dry lube tonight. I have looked at the driver side the other day, it’s fine and I have a passenger spindle on order so I’ll have eyes on the passenger side next week hopefully.

I’ve had cracks for years all the way through on both sides in that location, like 3 layers of sheet metal but still hasn’t busted all the way through on the bottom.

I think I’m gonna do 2in .065 square tube and gusset the shit out of it to the rest of the core support for the new cross member the body mounts sit under

It deserves saying I replaced the core support many years ago with aftermarket shit, lotta work and not enough invested in the parts
