Didnt have to send the old one back :) Ive got one good one, and one hacked together one. When I get some more time im going to have to try to rebuild it better.

I would of liked to rerun my wires today, but I spent the whole day working on audio stuff.

This is so huge. I had no idea APRS existed. Why doesn't everyone have this??

It's amazing how much better Kenwood implemented APRS in the TM-D710G then any other attempt. It's certainly not a new design, yet no one seems able to build a better mousetrap.

Is that because APRSdroid + mobilinkd + TM-V71A is so cheap and effective at getting a color map display?

When the FTM-400 was introduced, I was surprised, then disappointed that the large color screen was not a map display.

I don't keep the antenna outside on the roof unless it's in use. So, most of the time it is inside the cab. The truck is parked in a garage with not a lot of overhead clearance.

I had a buddy 3D print this cradle for the magnetic mount. It's tucked away nicely while stowed. Very easy to deploy on the roof when needed. Protected from the elements otherwise.

This image is not in focus, but it shows how the cable is tucked in the weatherstripping.
