If you go the 3 leaf route, on both the sets I have had, I had to remove the front alignment bracket on the overload leafs because it inerferes with the AAL. You can leave the over load leaf out and it won't give as much lift it is optional in this case. I used them because I needed the added weight capacity.

I did it on a '13 and a '15 so yes you may be absolutely correct.

Hopefully you measured your driveline angles prior to dicking with the suspension so you only have to do a little math camp to figure out the correct remedy.

Bilstein 5100's set @2.5" 1" Rear Block 2" Rear add-a-leaf Fender Flares KN Cold air Intake OEM Roof Rack
Took off the 2" spacers and added Bilstein 5100's all around. Set the front at 2.5". Added a leaf (2") to the rear as well as a 1" block. Truck looks great with a nice front rake. Next will be new wheels and tires, anyone have experience with general AT/X Grabbers? I mostly drive highway back and forth to work, but on the weekends or some hunting trips I am out in the fields and such. NY weather too so I would like something with decent snow traction as well.
