Maybe I can swing a Thursday evening departure, arriving about 1:30 am.
Hmmm … but if I follow the sage advice of Mr. Thompson who wrote, “pump up the tires to 75 psi ... the thing might start handling like a Lotus Elan!”, I can roll in just after midnight!

That and a little adrenochrome. I won’t need much.

@kwolf9202 - I'll be heading out Thursday between 3-4pm from Denver and aiming to camp at ledge campground C up Kane's Creek. If that's full (unlikely) then ledge campground E. Those both have big spots available and awesome scenery to wake up to. Plus they're easy to find. If you hit Hurrah pass you've gone too far. Anyone that's going up Thursday and wants to join camping there I say drop a line in here or text message as you get to town so we know whether we're looking for a spot or a truck. There is no cell reception at the ledge campgrounds so you'd have to message from town.

I would argue that it is an excellent back up. Also, there are frequently people on the trail that dont have the good stuff and need to know what is going on. As long as you have your antenna set up well and a good speaker, CBs are a great cheap way to communicate on the trail. Should not be the end all be all, but I expect I will always have one in my truck.

Every truck I have ever owned since I was 16 has had one.

    Stop making sense :D

I always enjoy hearing what the Texans say as we approach/ pass them in their full sized trucks down in the San Juans.

    I apologize.

Screw those stupid CB things. I dont know why anybody would want that inexpensive, effective method of communication. I hate them.

About as effective of a backup as smoke signals. If the wind is blowing the wrong way you're screwed.

I'm not sure about inexpensive either. My HAM cert and kwality HT cost me less than my CB radio by itself.
