The OP is where its at espcially with our trucks. All the Seattle area people go east to the Cascades. Way less people head to the Olympics and those who do tend to only go to certain areas

I grew up on the south end of the Olympics, riding quads from Matlock up to the High Steel Bridge and all over the logging roads and FS roads up there. Wasn't until recently it clicked that.. guess what... i could go camp out there. So close to home I never even thought about heading out that way!

Did coast to coast Seattle to North Carolina when I got back from Alaska. Also as an iron butt rider I’ve done 1,000 (24 hrs) and 1500 (24 hrs) mile motorcycle timed runs from South Dakota to Arizona.

I'm bringing my gravel bike for the 4 day stage race at Rebeccas private Idaho. I'm also going to bring my Mountain Bike for some random rides. I don't want to miss out on any good riding while I'm there. I know I'll stay at least one day at Curt Gowdy in WY and cruise around there. I've done a few days there before and enjoyed the rides and views.

Haha yeah not seriously thinking about quitting. I’m just going to keep busting my ass climbing trees to build the truck and take trips with my girl. Working so far at least haha

It's pretty level being an old railbed, but it's gravel so MTB is the way to go. Easy ride but scenic.

Just reread this.. Depending on where you are in FL, definitely check out Ocala National Forest. Lots of fresh water springs that are super awesome, and many have camp grounds adjacent for a small fee.

The mall is just a few miles from my house....

Just over 2,000 miles for the longest trip in the taco but we've done a few 4 week 4-5,000 mile trips in previous vehicles. I'd have no problem going further in the Tacoma, I just don't have the time to do it.

Stop at Uwharrie national Forest camp and wheel in Troy, NC I am sure some of use could get out there with you. There are some cool places along the blue ridge mtns. All this depends on of your making the drive the adventure or the destination.

Wish my scoutmasters let us do trips like that. The majority of our trips were camping in rainy fields around Quantico and northern VA that our retired Marine scoutmaster insisted "built character".

Shit our retired naval pilot insists being stuck in a car for a month with people builds character and forces you to get along. We camp in not so pleasant weather as well.

Probably just happy to have people to talk to. F-18 canopies get really small and lonely on ferry flights so I hear.

Planning my first big trip with the taco this year, going down to Utah in September-ish. Growing up we never traveled, always busy, always working...... I graduated high school and had never left the south end of Washington.

Joined the trades right out of highschool and started working in Seattle (first day of work was only my 2nd time in Seattle)

Can’t wait to drive down and see Utah/Arizona, maybe even come up through Vegas and head home through Cali

Well, earlier last month I drove from Phoenix, Arizona all the way up to Portland, Oregon.

Put about 3,300 miles on my truck in roughly 7 days. This is with armor, two kids in the back all our luggage and stuff.

Hardest part was I drove solo, the whole way there/back. Only 2 days on the road each way too, so 11-12 hour days behind the wheel at a stretch.

Gas mileage wasn't great but the 2006 TRDORDCSB did great and I just hit 195,000 miles on it yesterday.

/next road trip will probably be shorter and only a couple hundred miles total

I was extremely lucky by the time I graduated HS I had been on 4 cross country road trips. Have done only 2 since graduating 20 yrs. ago. Now that my daughter is getting older and I am building my truck to wheel and adventure I am making time to take road trips and take her places and get some of the experiences I had as a kid. They are such great memories. The destinations are the smallest part of the trip the adventure of doing big trips is the fun and memories. Even when everything can go wrong goes wrong looking back on it I wouldn't change the trips for anything.
