    I'd only consider a RRT if it were installed on a small off-road camping trailer. Installed on my DD? Hell no!

    Below is what I'd consider a near ideal setup.

    I didnt read all the replies since there are so many. We love our RTT had it over 5 years and have more nights in it than i can count. No worries abour rocks or roots under you and always dry . no matter how much you spend on a ground tent there is always moisture.
    As for what sore of tent its personal preference .We have a tepui that when folded it sits aboit height of the cab. I have been throwing around idea of a topper and clam shell tent since everything will stay dry and dust free also no worries of stuff being stolen from bed . Only ground tent that has set up as fast ad my RTT is my expedition Hildberg tent
