It's really great that these tires fit the way they do, I proselytize them everywhere I go.

Yeah, he was really skeptical. I can't remember what size tires he was running, but they were maybe a quarter inch from the UCA. On stock Sport wheels.

Considering the Coopers to replace the stock Goodyears on my ‘17 OR.
The Goodyears have been horrible in wet conditions and hydroplane easily.

For those of you that have had the Coopers for a while, how’s roadnoise after putting on some mileage (compared to stock) and are you still happy with them in wet conditions?

    Thanks.

My current setup is Cooper ST Maxx's in 255/85r16 on stock OR suspension/wheels. I've been very pleased with the tires so far, but I'm looking at swapping suspension for the ADS extended travel with resis (no clickers). Has anyone changed UCAs and kept the stock wheels with 255/85r16? If so did you need to add spacers to avoid rubbing the UCA?

JBA specifically calls out a more negative offset required to run 255/85/16 with their UCAs. I haven't found anything on any other UCAs that would confirm if the stock OR wheels would work or not. I was planning on going with SPC, but would consider others (TC, Icon , etc.) if I could avoid buying new wheels.

I've done some searching and found one post confirming that the JBAs did rub with this wheel/tire setup, but haven't found anything specific on the other brands. I also reached out to Headstrong Off-road (where I plan to buy from). Marie was quick to respond but wasn't sure if the SPC would work for this setup.

I have the ST Maxx's in 255/85/16. I only have a few thousand miles on mine. From my experience so far, they're loud enough to notice with the windows up and the stereo off. The noise is a little more noticeable in turns for me. The sound kind of reminds me of a light rail train (specifically BART) from a long distance off. I don't find them annoying or excessive, but they're definitely louder than I remember the stock tires being.

As far as wet performance, I haven't had any complaints. Bear in mind that I haven't had a lot of experience with them, and I haven't had to perform any emergency braking in the rain.

So this 40% on Thursday has me thinking about getting the TRD beadlock rims.

The rims are 16x7.5 10mm offset
Is anyone smarter than me that can confirm or deny these will work with 255/85r16s and stock suspension

@bestcoast91 I’m interested in your question as well. Keep us posted if you find a UCA that can would with the stock rims and the 255s

Will do! I reached out to SPC and TC for feedback as well. Hopefully they'll have something more definitive soon.

I received the response below from an SPC rep regarding how the SPC UCA profile compared to that of the stock UCA. Unfortunately, his response didn't directly answer the question. I asked for additional clarification and will update here when I know more.

I got answers back from both TC and SPC. Both answers were about the same. Unless someone else with first hand experience chimes in, I don't think I'll know definitively until I pick one and try it.

How many miles of tread life did you ( anyone on this thread) get from their tires?

I put them on a 2018 OR, no rubbing with S/T MAXX 255/85r16

Now, what happens when I put spidertrax spacers on, anyone know? Does that lead to rubbing?

Yes, you will have very minor rubbing on the front fender well. A Dremel and a heat gun will solve that.
