Meh. @christyle will say I'm wrong though :anonymous:. I don't think they're anything special though, honestly. I liked them way better before they started in to the hazeboi game and quit making everything they used to that defined them. They're "good" because they're hard to get and you have to go sit in an hour long line in the middle of a work day to get their cans. If I never had a monkish again, I'd be perfectly ok with it.

I think I need to get over there.
There is another place I have been wanting to check out,
    Brick & Feather
if you are up for a road trip let me know.
I think the head brewer at B&F brewed at Russian River for a while.

You can send it to me and I’ll send you something you may like that isn’t haze back then! Unfortunately tho, that’s most of the craft scene lately.

They're one of the top in the hazy IPA game, which you aren't a fan of. It's tough to judge any brewery on them really because they're so delicate. Try the same beer on release day, then a week later, totally different. Don't keep it stored properly, same thing. A hazy is all about freshness, and if you don't have them fresh, did you really have them? If I compared the monkish stuff to Offshoot or Bottle Logic, the key difference is consistency. Monkish is always pretty good, Modern Times is close to always good, better than BL or Offshoot. Anyway....whatever.

I’ve had Modern Times and have always loved it for being readily available in store in Hawaii. That said, it’s not on the east coast near me.

Some haze ages fine, some definitely does not. The stuff I get here ranges to great when bought to needing to be settled.

I will never have Monkish cans unless someone gives them to me. I'm not dropping everything to drive at least an hour to wait in line for another hour lol. I get plenty of other great beer without lines... just don't ask about last week ha! I also don't really like hazys. I think they all taste the same with a few exceptions. I'm a hazy hate-er, I'll admit it.
Ya, whatever . How was the beer fest this weekend?

So you’re saying you don’t want the Triple IPA made with seven kinds of hops from 4 continents and then dry humped, uh I mean dry hopped with 3 variants and bottled at midnight?

Only beers worth drinking were the Hazys hahaha. Alvarado Contains no juice and something from Made West. Nothing dark really, or at least good. Couple decent things from Firestone, including a watermelon sour and a manhattan-inspired one. And Zin Skin. Whatever, I was blacked out from like 3-8pm :bananadead:

Yep, the description on each can is the same other than the hops. One uses “lotus” and the other uses “Nelson sauvin”

I like them both, so that’s what counts lol. Still probably my favorite ipa
