Basically that. Winter was frustrating as feck driving a heavily modified truck so I put a lot of the truck stuff on hold. But weather is a lot more springlike now, getting my summer tires back on hopefully this week. I have a lot of catching up on this thread to do.

Truck is running pretty good, replaced all my O2 sensors and MAF. Looking into some suspension changes to remove some of the squat when accelerating. My friend with an X-runner has been impressed how I shoot flames when I let off the gas after WOT.

Also, you guys will find this entertaining. Procrastinated replacing a damaged belt for a little too long.

I’ve driven without the belt before and it behaved mostly like an NA Tacoma, but when it got tangled around the supercharger pulley like that, the manifold pressure would drop to -9psi (yes my vacuum gauge reads psi, not mmHg). Not sure how that worked. Maybe the rotors were stuck oriented to severely block the flow?

Bought a 2008 4.0 not long ago that had a trd s/c kit installed at around 80k miles.i bought it at 115k, It now has 120k on it. I’ve noticed if I’m sitting at a red light with the road on an incline, when i take off it will shift at a higher rpm than it would on flat ground. Is this normal? It is equipped with the trd reflash. New to boost, I defiantly like it. I have another question, would it be a waste of time to change snout oil at around 40k miles on s/c? I just replaced the belt it started to get some cracking.

Another addition, I had the transmission flushed after buying the truck, had the Toyota tech hook his computer to it and it didn’t throw any codes. I’m guessing the reflash or “tune” or whatever y’all call it can change shift points?

I’m thinking that whenever you’re on a hill you mash the accelerator a bit harder and that will change the shift point.

If the the supercharger was installed and run by the previous owner then yes, I would do all the maintenance to it that you can in due time so that you know exactly what your intervals are going forward, and know for sure what has been done.

When I got my truck the oil in the supercharger was nearly dry.

@White lightning boosted could you give me the coles notes of what’s happened in this thread during my hibernation? Same people still around? Any amazing technological realizations? Anyone bend a rod?

This is a subjective comment really as not all valve bodies wear at an even rate due to temperature differences, uses and loads the transmission sees which can lead to premature mild warpage of valve body internals or even the body itself.

Personally the ratiotek kit for me can handle my 2.3 just beautifully and has been doing so without a hiccup since I threw the pulley on.

The consensus seems to be that the restrictor jet is more useful than not.

I had mine out, put it back in to test it for a while slightly enlarged, experienced excessive pinging due to having it in... removed it again and have experienced correct performance ever since.

I'm happy and apparently many others are having it out as well. To me there is better max boost consistency as well as other potential benefits.

Always always ALWAYS inspect your drive belt alignment on all related pullies prior to starting it back up.

Keep us posted on how the Rutheniums perform!

No it does not. It comes from shit gas mileage due to a heavy foot. Lol.

The shift points are altered as well as shift performance when you have your foot more buried on the accelerator with the TRD Tune. You are fine.

No rods thrown or bent, mostly all members who are the regulars are still here too, but HPTuners is finally coming around at long last!!
