I have a 2018 Tacoma Limited with Entune Premium. When I got the truck, a popup would allow me to select to listen to an incoming text. I didn't use it because, after I would listen to the text, the Entune wouldn't resume playing whatever was playing before the text was listened to so I'd have to go back and select play to resume. Now, when a text is incoming, a popup comes up telling me there is an incoming text and goes away having never given me the option to listen to the text. It only tells me there is an incoming text.

Is this normal? Was there an update that stopped the Entune from speaking texts? Does someone know what the fix is?

Having this exact same issue, pops up with the notification but can only hit the ignore option.

There was an update, I don’t whether it was caused me the same problem but I can only assume it was. I had to fiddle fart around and reconfigure the settings with etune and my phone to get it to work again. All is good now.

Well shoot now that my messaging is set up it’s not giving me the same prompts on etune. I believe this was the sequence though: go to apps, hit setup, go to phone then message settings and I think it asked me if I wanted setup up messages at that point. It took 2-3 times doing it to get it done. Hope this helps, if not the 3000 page manual will tell you.

Thanks, that fixed it. It seems Entune doesn't allow me to select to read the text unless full screen is enabled. I didn't have full screen mode selected. As for playback not continuing after listening to the text, that's still true. I'm not sure if it's true of everything since I just about only listen to podcasts over bluetooth but I have to select play on my phone to restart the podcast after listening to the text.
