One of the small black circles that go on the step of the rear bumper popped up. It's one of the pieces you need to remove when installing a tow hitch, then you pop it back on. Anyone know of a part number for that piece?

    Thanks
    Dave

FYI the pieces (and part #) will be different for bumpers WITH a toyota hitch installed, versus those without. The hitch bolts mandate a cup, rather than the flat plastic piece seen on bumpers without a hitch.

Does this mean I can use ones for a factory hitch for a better fit even though mine does not have the factory hitch?

There's also two types of factory hitch...one that came with the tow package (Class IV, uses raised covers) and one that is added as a standalone option (Class III, uses flat covers as seen in the OP's attached pic)

Either case the dealer should have them in stock...they come off easily if you climb up in your bed often.

if you're experiencing problems with the bolts interfering with the plastic then yes, i'd give it a shot.

You can, but I wouldn't. The flush mounted covers will stay on better.

I think I might have a couple in my toolbox from my old truck if you're interested.

8th, sure take a look. I'd rather give you a couple bucks than give it to Ernie Boch Jr.

When I installed my aftermarket hitch, the directions said to cut out part of the underside of the plastic pieces.

The bolts for some aftermarket hitches will allow you to trim and reuse the flush caps. The bolts for the tow package receiver are much to tall.

six, I'll take a look when I head home for lunch here in a bit.
