Yo TacoBro’s! I performed the 4.88 Gear install about 10k miles ago. Wish I would’ve done 5.29’s instead. Anyone with 5.29’s want 4.88’s? I’m located in Utah. Maybe we could arrange a swap?
Pic of my TacToy (Tactical Toyota) for attention.

In the same boat since I’m considering 37’s. Have 4.88’s now, but it could use a little more pep. Let me know how you like the change

Do you have any issues with your truck not having enough power to use 6th gear?! Mine will only shift into 6th gear going down hill and I have to put the selector in “M” and bump it to 6th. Will never shift into 5th or 6th in “D”.

Question do you have OV tune? Not saying it will help just checking before I get gears haha was looking at 5.29 before I got the OV tune and the truck is completely different now stock gears and 33s

Yes. I have OV running 1.05 on 91octance map.
Although the powerband and HP is enhanced... Still cannot make up for mechanical advantage.

This is what i want to do with my truck. I dont have the funds for the 4.88 gears and installation. Sounds like its a good idea for the price if only sticking to 33s

I doubt anyone wants to downgrade. You are better off making the swap and selling the gears.

I don’t have OV Tune. Should I try that first.

JoeCOVA, I’m afraid you’re probably right. The shop service for the gear set-up is what I don’t want to pay for again.
