Installing the Icon RXT spring pack and doing option 2. The extra provided leaf is longer on one side than the other. I’m presuming front is where the longer side goes but would like to double check. Could be blind but intructions don’t specify. Anyone know which end????

No I believe the long side goes towards the rear, I’m also on option number two. I measured the leafspring that came out and put it same way. I called icon to verify, and they said that was correct. I used all the same hardware from option one, everything was long enough. Also on the rear brake cable brackets, I used a Unibit to enlarge the hole, used pliers to twist the bracket to line up with cable, and bolted it to the leaf spring clamps. On my double cab longbed, game me 3” lift before settling. They ride so much smoother compared to stock leaf springs.

After the post I took to measuring also and the longer side on mine was to the front (side with two clamps). Funny the instructions don’t mention nor is it marked there is a longer side.

I just placed the new leaf in the same orientation as the one I removed - short side replaced short side.

Can't remember the direction I installed mine. Only one orientation looked correct/even and that's how I replaced the third leaf.

Don't ever use the Option 1 config if you use your truck. You'll flatten the leaf packs pretty quick.

After I flattened my driver's pack I'm running Option 3 on the driver and Option 2 on the passenger.

I’m Georgia but I’m good to go on install just don’t want to do it twice. I’m getting mixed opinions and one guy on a Facebook group I’m in put one side one way and the other the opposit by accident. I’m going to go with longer side forward. Because if you do option 3 with longer side to the back the Original 3rd leaf and the one you add the nylon pad nipple on the bottom would be on top of the nylon pad below, and that couldn’t be right.

I am about to do the same thing. Makes sense the way you describe it.

I completed the install and no issues so far. After a lot of checking there was no definitive way but this way makes sense to me.

Hey guys, I’ve read the posts on this thread and I’m still confused. I’m going with option two. Does the longer side go towards the two clamps or one clamp? Thanks fellas!

When assembled they should look like the top pic not the bottom. It only makes sense for them to go one way or they will stack directly on top of the other spring like the bottom pic. So longer side towards the double clamp, or front of vehicle.

Agreed, I called several shops that do them and got different opinions but the way the pads meet says long to the front which is what I did with no issues.

Got the leaf pack installed today- went with option two. This leaf pack vs my old AAL is a night a day difference as far as how much smoother the ride is. Not sure how much the bumps are helping but there is a substantial difference in ride. Now all I need to do is cut the u-bolts down about an inch. Fronts are at 23 3/4" and rears are at 24 1/4" and 24 1/2".

Thanks again for all your help @EricTRD4x4 & @charlieyankee88
