The wires to the RTMR are a Cat 5. Lol

The wires you see are the power and ground jumpers. If I did it again... Ya, I would not have done the Daisy chains with wire that big.

But the A pillar only has a power, a ground (grounded to a screw under the A pillar), and a Cat 5 in it.

 

Looks good. Your eyes are going to hate you I'd you drive a night a lot.

I’m surprised there’s enough room up there to fit the switches. Might have to do this. The brightness doesn’t bother you? I’d probably hookup the backlights to the Rheostat so I can dim them.

 

But a still photo won't prove anything. Just boards laying in the snow. Here's a fun video of this past week in which I don't see traction boards being more helpful than a winch if I was solo.

Leaf spring question: I’m finally getting around to installing my lift in two weeks. I got the Daystar greasable main eye bushing/bolts. I was planning on using the stock rear shackles and hardware though. Any reason I shouldn’t do this? This will be my first lift install and don’t want surprises.

A decent set of tire chains and you would have cruised right through that.

I looked for about 6-8 months for used - no luck. Saved some pennies and finally pulled the trigger.

 

Realistically it's a tool that can make a recovery faster. A shovel would get you out of that. A shovel and traction boards would get you out faster. A rear winch and some sort of land anchor would get you out even faster. And a buddy with a winch or a strap is likely fastest. And chains might have kept you from getting in the situation in the first place. That's all the shit we carry ever is, a tool that can make recovery or repairs or whatever faster or easier.

 

Replaced the broken clock spring last night with a used oem (ebay) for under $40. No more airbag light and my horn works again.

 

You'll be fine, I have the same Daystar bolts going through the bottom of the stock shackles. They fit

Did you make one switch a different color just to mess with me?

 

LOL... The first switch on the left is power on/off to the switches. Yes, it's a different color. Good thing I'm not OCD about shit like that.

I ran the switches through an on/off switch because it's all coming from the Aux battery with constant power so I can have the lights on with the truck off, but without the switch the bottom indicator lights on the switches would always be on.

 

I didn’t say that right. Daystar is going up front. For the rear I planned on reusing all the stock bolts and shackles. I do have new bushings that came with the leafs I was going to use back there but everything else would be stock.

 

MY EYES. My favorite "feature" of our 1st gen trucks is that when you turn the dimming dial all the way down, ALL OF THE INTERIOR lights turn off (except the A/C and recirculation buttons and headlight bright indicator and O/D and ...). Many times I have wanted to modify my instrument cluster to also dim the indicators relative to the dimming knob so that I could also fully turn off the O/D and Brights (blue) while driving off-road (or in the mountains) at night.

 

To use a cat 5 cable in this application do you just cut the end off of the cable that would normal plug into a phone / computer / wall or is there an adapter to plug LED wires into it?

 

I need a picture of a CBI Trail Rider bumper that shows the supports in the back. Can anyone get me one?
I ordered the DIY kit but it doesn't come with a diagram. Most of it is pretty obvious, but the supports between the mounting plates, the CNC-cut supports, and how the trailer hitch receiver is attached in the back isn't clear.
A picture from directly underneath would work fine or if you had one off the truck, a picture from above would be perfect.
There's a few different ways it could go together, but I'd rather know how it was meant to go together.
