Hey there, new Tacoma owner here! Excited to be part of the group!

I searched thru all of the TSBs posted in the sticky threads as well as some google searching, but couldn't find anything exactly answering my question. I have a brand new 2019 SR Access Cab, 4 cylinder auto. Love it! I have noticed though highway drives feel bumpy in the seat... This could be a paranoid new owner thing, but it almost feels like a wheel isn't balanced 100%. The steering wheel doesn't shake at all but the seat seems to be getting some vibration, especially over 60. Is this just the way these trucks are, or could this be a potential visit to the dealership. The truck has over 500 miles now. All the lugs are tight, no wheel weights appear to be missing.

    Thank you for the help!

They are kind of loud and not overly smooth on the highway, always worth having them make sure everything is aligned though.

Check tire pressure, if the rears are over filled, it'll make an empty bed bounce. Also, while I'm not driving it, this does sound like it just rides like a truck. If you're still convinced something is amiss, go test drive a similarly optioned truck on the lot.

Empty bed just amplifies/transmits road thru truck. Bed mat/ weight helps reduce it.

they are little bumpy, you can take it in to get it checked and ask if you can test drive another while they are checking to see if it does the same thing.

Most dealers will check the balance free one time after purchase. I'd take it in. Usually a vibration in the seat at certain speeds is a rear tire balance issue.

Out of curiosity, is this your first truck?
Ride is very subjective. My Tacoma rides like a dump truck compared to my wife's Accord but rides like a luxury car compared to my buddy's f250

This is my first true truck, but I am coming from a 2015 wrangler, and owned a few cherokees prior.

I scheduled a service for this afternoon to have them check it out. Also want them to look at the drivers side front rotor as it looks scored (passenger side is fine). I'll report back with the results.

I noticed on the highway the first couple times the truck would " teeter tooter" was hoping it was just the road quality. It seemed to have stopped, or it was the road.

I get some vibrations too but it's a truck, I'm not expecting the smoothest ride.

I guess that I was one of the lucky ones. Zero vibes at any speed. Running the HWY at 70+ is smooth as silk. Even better now after the addition of TRD Pro suspension. But being an old Tire & Alignment man, I keep a pretty sharp eye on tire pressures, rotation and alignment. I do have the hard tri-fold factory bed cover & mat, but that stuff don't weigh much. Your problem is likely rear tire related.

Have the exact same set-up (suspension, cover and Mat) none here either. Cover, and mat adds close to 200lb enough to tame it for road noise/road condition/transfer.

SR has the lowest priced suspension components.
    Upgrading is the answer.

Well if you've owned a wrangler you already know all about shitty ride quality :D

One thing I've found helped in all my tacoma's as the other guy mentioned is a bed mat and a little weight, really smooths things out. All my tacoma's have had either camper shells or bed racks and I got so used to them when I drive a tacoma with an empty bed I can REALLY tell the difference.

You could also drop your air pressure a tad but I'd start with adding a bed mat and a little weight to the rear end.

What, no. A bed mat weighs like ten pounds and is attached to the bed via Velcro. It does nothing at all for vibrations or anything of the sort.

Also a bed mat without a tonneau is weird. I'd say get a nice fiberglass tonneau like a bakflip, which should add enough weight to smooth you out .

Mine is definitely bumpy, especially with an empty bed like mentioned here. Actually jumps around more than my Nissan Frontier used to. Doesn't bother me too much though. On the highway with good roads, she drives pretty damn smooth for a truck.

Check your tire pressure & adjust to what is on the door jam sticker.
My SR had a rather harsh ride for the first 1k-1.5k miles, definitely became more compliant as time/miles progressed.

Okay then. Never really gave it much thought. Just happy that it rides SO good.

The rubber OEM bed mat weighs over 40lb and is not held down with velcro
