Directions unclear, just spent $5000 on Scotch.

    Thanks alot @Ensemble88 and @fiftyxp !

I don't mind spending money on something I like (I mean, at my local spot my Ardbeg was ~$60). I recognize several of the brands you named from seeing them on the shelf in the scotch section, prices aren't entirely absurd. I'm the only one in my house drinking it so I can easily justify dropping some money on something that will take me several months to finish. I also have a friend who is obsessed with whiskey and has tastings, price of entry is 'bring something', and since this is all management from work people usually bring higher end stuff. That's where I learned about Ardbeg.

Incidentally the place I shop has a tasting bar too, so its easy enough to get something in my mouth before I spend money on it. Giggity.

    keep going you'll get there.

pretty soon you'll be calling mom and pops driving around aimlessly looking for all ardberg when you start seeing bottles dwindle and no new shipments coming in.

I suspect that would only happen if Ardbeg closed their doors. The place I shop is one of their 'embassy' locations, so I think they get the milk straight from the cow, so to speak.

If you ever find yourself around Cinci, definitely go to party source. They have so much stuff. Plus, the prices are great (at least for around here- example, a bottle of larceny I'd pay $35 for down the street I can get for 24.99 across the river)

if you really want a punch in the mouth of peat try this guy.
crazy imo. I cant stand it personally (not huge on peat) but its extremely popular.
A lot of peat guys rave about it.

Should be able to, but I never see it here. I did get the new Cairdeas CS quarter cask and it's phenomenal.

It's not accurate. The specs around me sorta blow for scotch save for the Smith Street location in downtown.

ETA - I'm about an hour east of Houston

I'll be travelling toward Austin this weekend and hope to snag it then :fingerscrossed:

Slowed down a lot on my bottle purchases, but I gotta make exceptions for road trips :D
