    New Wisconsin guy here.
I just got a 2013 TRD Off Road and I need to get it muddy.
I'm looking for places to off road around Steven's Point if any of you guys have experience in that area. My buddy will be throwing a lift on his Subaru (we all have a slow friend :) ) so I will soon have someone to go with.
I got to know the Chippewa Morraine area, directly north of chippewa falls, growing up as a high school kid with a truck. Theres a lot of dirt roads up there for the casual types (which I still fall into) and i could offer some direction to those.
Meet ups and camping sounds interesting to me too.

    Welcome, Ben!

The only actual off-road trail I'm aware of is the pipeline, near Mountain. It's 55552 on the MVUM. It's split into sections so you have to jog around to get to the different parts.

I recommend getting an offline map app and download the MVUM maps for the areas you're visiting. I use Avenza maps. It's nice being able to see where you are without any dependence on cell service.

There are a lot of old logging roads on the MVUM that don't show up on regular maps. There is also a key so you can check what types of vehicles are allowed on each trail and when. That will keep you out of trouble.

I'd be interested in the area you mentioned as I travel to the Eau Claire area pretty regularly in the summer.

    Cheers

I'm heading to Grant County today. I'm going to check out that section of the T.W.A.T.

If anyone is out that way and wants to say hi, or join me, shoot me a message. I'll probably just cruise through some of it and work my way back along the Wisconsin river. That whole part of the state is so beautiful

You may encounter some flooding. The river was high last weekend and still rising so getting to any of the launches may be a challenge if you wanted to dip your toes in Old Man River.

When you get up to Closing Dam Road, go all the way to the end (42.787329,-91.069966). The TWAT has you turning on Good-Nuff Hollow Rd but the short drive to the end of Closing Dam Rd and Good-Nuff Hollow Rd are the highlights of that section as far as the roads go. Sandy Road is also a good one. Enjoy!

I'm on my way to the Oregon coast tonight and then driving back over the next 9 days with my significant other.

Hey all you Badger folks! New to TW and a year into my first Tacoma, '17 TRD OR. Looking to do some exploring and building up my Taco. It's in the shop atm, long story of rodent problems. Has anyone ever run the forest service trails through the Nicolet-Chequamegon NF? Not sure if that's a thing of note, but I thought I'd ask.

I've been exploring the Lakewood/Laona district. That's where the pipeline is.

If you want em, let me know. My parents live in IL so I'm down there frequently. Happy to facilitate some sort of trade.

Here is what I did with my last set. Had them blasted and powder coated black and then a clear powder coat applied. The clear protects them from salt. Painted center caps to match. Sold the truck for an FJ Cruiser. Zoom in if you can to see details.

I had to get a picture here since everyone does!

I have to thank @Atrox1529 for the tip about closing dam road. The natural scenery was great!

There is some good trails just north of you in Iron county MI. I have a cabin there, run the trails all the time in my camp jeep. Nice thing in the UP if you have plates on truck, you don't need an ORV pass.

Where can I find these trails?

It's already a pretty good haul for me to get to the pipeline. But, I might be interested in checking them out sometime when I have a whole weekend to explore.

I plan on taking a few trips to northeastern Wisconsin this summer. Maybe I'll see you up there
