Im about to go from a 3" to a 2.5" with a couple of resonators to try and quiet it down for road trips. Have one resonator now, but it's not enough and the muffler is too small so its loud

I’ve always thought that the deadening needed to get tolerable cab noise levels from large high flow exhausts and mufflers probably counteracts a lot of the power gains. I chose the Delta 50 series for that reason. Good proven flow from lots of boosted applications and minimal drone.

Back when I had my GTO exhausts larger than 2.5 were not necessary up until you were running past the 500 WHP threshold. It was compared to the equal as having a straw too large while attempting to suck in liquid or air. It reaches a certain point where you become inefficient. I always did personally believe 2.5" piping would net better results for our trucks, but we have always up to this point been under the 400HP mark so I didn't think it was as big a factor until now.

Kind of my thinking too especially since aftermarket mufflers actually require a significantly higher exhaust speed to achieve the best flow results. The artificial vacuum they create to increase flow only exists beyond a certain flow speed and volume rate. At least that’s what a couple of guys I really trust have told me.

Yeah there is actually a science behind exhausts and many guys just throw on stuff with no regard to what ideal sizing is based upon what their actual engine flow is. That's why in many cases you actually want a venturi effect on your exhaust instead of a straight through design because the smaller to larger effect actually speeds up the exit of the exhaust. For turbos you actually may benefit from a reverse designed venturi effect. At least that is what I have observed when I have looked at legitimate build threads for turbo guys, but I am no expert on the subject matter. It does make sense, however.

Cruiser brothers will work with you if you call and talk to them. They provide a variety of discounts for people on the forum, Military, LEO, Fire, Father’s Day, repeat buyer discounts. However, if you click on the product on their page it shows around 1200 USD for it.

I need them to make me a custom one off tune for my car. Won’t happen though. Most the things I’ve been using are meant for other cars with the same engine that I hope will work on my car.

(Because the boomslang harness I got for my AEM is way too big to fit in my ECU’s compartment)

2.5 duals might even be oversized for my application but I felt 2.25 might be too small. Ended up just choosing 2.5 because I wanted Borla XR1 stuff and XR1 items don’t go down below 2.5.

Did your Lexus come with a dealer installed blower, or did you add it yourself?

    Definitely a niche market

Yeah our stuff is no longer "state the basic details about the car and pull up parts catalog for them" anymore.

It’s a TRD supercharger for the tundra 4.7 that’s been thrown into my Lexus 4.3. Did it myself.

Thats pretty awesome. Did it take much modification to make it work?

As of now the biggest difference is only 5* above ambient. This includes very spirited, repetitive stoplight to stoplight driving. Low 60's here now. I hope it doesnt change too much as temps increase.

Thanks for the info, I meant in regards to the mechanical side of it, like where are you tapping in to get the readings and where are you displaying said readings?

A lot of hammering and some cutting

This is what I’m stuck on now. ECU is way up front. And the compartment is tiny.

Autometer makes a brass 3/4" fitting. I have it on the line exiting the s/c. Gauge is on the a-pilar. Also have a switch so I can see engine temp from the same gauge:thumbsup:
