Gotta love E rated tires, 15 psi and they still look like they're at 35psi lol. Mine don't really start to show any bulge until I get down to 12.

It was actually my first time ever dropping air pressure. Didn't have to use lockers or winch myself out. It was crazy how it just climbed up rock ledges and didn't skip a beat. The only reason it's my first time is I never had anyone to help air back up haha.

Did you pick up an air compressor? Airing down is a crucial part of offroading, especially on harder trails. You get far better traction with the tires aired down and it's a lot better on your suspension components (not nearly as harsh/rough) and better for the ride quality. I air down even when I do fire roads, just makes the ride so much better. A good air compressor is key to have

Is there any adverse effect to the sidewall of the tire to run it low for long periods of time? Most of the stuff being off road, road, and gravel roads.

As long as your only aired down on the trail you'll be fine, and you don't want to air down too low depending on the surface you're on and the type of tires that you have. Heavier load tires like E rated tires can handle going to lower PSI more than a P or C rated tire can. If you go too low even on an E rated tire, the tire can pop off the rim or blow out the sidewall (more common on C and P rated tires since they have weaker sidewalls). Which is why so many people that do harder trails usually run D or E rated tires, they're a lot stronger overall.

Running them too low on the street not only kills your handling and MPGs but its also not good for the tire wear, which is why you want to carry an air compressor and be sure to air up once you're done with the trail.

My rule of thumb with E rated tires is 15 psi for rocky trails, 20 psi for fire roads and 2wd friendly trails, and 10psi for sand dunes. I've never had a tire come off the rim and only ever had one flat, but it happened because the sidewall got rounded on a sharp rock (probably would have punctured it even if it wasn't aired down).

I have seen others lose a tire off a rim and blow out a sidewall from too low air pressure but both times it was on C rated tires.

Multiple trails and many miles airing down to 15-20 psi.

Sub 20 is not good. You’ll over heat the tire and cause it to fail. Case in point

Right! First trip out on 35” bead locks running 10-12 psi was in Uhwarri in NC and they were amazing. Similarly equipped rigs running 33”s and 18-20 psi had to be winched up hills that mine crawled right up with no issues.

Ya, C rated tires and I think about 50k miles on them. Sidewall blew out doing about 40mph. About 50% of that damage was due most likely from the rim.

It's also a high possibility that the side wall was defective from the get go. Never worried about it to much to have it investigated.

    No blood, no foul.

Can’t complain too much with 50k on them. What do you mean damage was from the rim?
