Yes- They are bolted thru the metal bed rail.

To do so- there are two clips on the top of the inside middle wheel well that need to be removed... then you can access the underside of the bed rail as you pull the fender liner down towards you. I also removed the 6 bolts that hold in the storage bin on left side and the power outlet panel on the right side, with those removed you can access the rear most mounting bolts.

Make sure you hit metal on all 8 bolts- there are some factory metal cutouts on the top of bed rails- I looked at pictures of the bed removed to best aim my mounting points.

I already had a set of the the legs and the crossbars from a trailer build project. There is a bit of flex to crossbars when the RTT is on it... I built a small bumpstop that I mounted underneath the center of the crossbar- this worked great to keep the flex down. The RTT is plenty within the load limits of the bars and legs, but I just wanted to control it a bit more.

    Bump stops made with these:
    https://www.amazon.com/Red-Hound-Au...nt/dp/B01MXLTDKZ?ref_=bl_dp_s_web_10325864011

If I was going to buy bars and legs for this project- I would look into what bars have the strongest load ratings as +60" spans for load bars is pretty big and perhaps another brand or model would have a bit less flex. Just my .02

Nice, I like that Kentucky Windage with the Drill. Really clean setup, I was looking into doing something similar with the Rhino/Yakima/Thule tracks running the entire length of the bed rails. Playing with the idea of running a Prinsu Top Rack off of them.

@dreday It was pretty easy to remove. Just get a hold of it where I've noted in the image and pull. It's held in place with some of those plastic clips.
    20190314_191302-picsay.jpg
The grey or orange trim is held on with some tiny screws, remove those and you can paint or plastidip without having to tape anything off. The trim piece to the left of the steering wheel comes of the same way.
    20190403_121148.jpg
You can kinda see the finish on the picture, press a little dark. Mine was done with a good coat of flat black plastidip, followed with multiply Austin's of Plastidip's Copper colored Metalizer. I did the same thing years ago, do the wheels on my 94 Jeep YJ and it still looks great.

I finally saw a Ranger today.

I swear to gawd if FedEx doesn't hurry up I'm going to trade my Taco in for a Colorado. (actually I'll wait, but it'd be nice of them to hurry up)
