Fuse locations

I have the tow package (don’t know if that matters) and I’m trying to locate left light trailer fuse.

I’m not able to clear located under both the hood fuse and drive side fuse panel. Is there a third fuse box ?

Just the two fuse panels.

 

The truck "shares" the fused juice from vehicle to trailer for turn n stop. The separate towing electrical/light circuits are; TOWING TAIL, which has its own fuse and relay; BACK UP lamp (shared relay, but towing BU lamp fuse) and Battery Charger, which also has its own fuse and relay.

Check you trailer LAMP and wiring/connector.

 

So I hooked it up to another car and it wasn’t an issue. So I know it’s isolated to my truck. The connector looks clean

 

So my right tail light works and flashes ... my left lights stays on all the time and does not flash when I flash the left turn signal

 

Turn OFF TAIL and select turn then verify again.

 

Turn & Stop are combined for the trailer. Dual filament bulb, one for TAIL the other is combined.

So all fuses looks good. For the relay, I don’t know how to check it but I just switched with the relay next to it and no luck.

My issue remains, the left light stays on constantly even if the truck is off while 7pin connected

 

Check the ground from 7 pin connector to the truck. Only thing I can think of that would cause this. Bad grounds cause weird shit.

 

How do I check the ground ? The wiring on the 7pin works fine on another vehicle

 

The ground on your truck. Trace it from 7 pin on your truck to where they grounded it to truck.

 

Do you have access to another trailer to test the trucks towing socket or get/buy a towing socket tester. Attempt to duplicate the trucks side of the towing "behavior".

I have a 2019 that’s 1wk old doing the SAME thing. Before this I had a burning smell in the cab w/no trailer...no one could smell it but me. Next days this starts happening exactLy like the OP truck.

I’m having radio issues as well but that’s another topic.

My last Toyota was unstoppable this thing is an electronic turdcoma

 

I confirmed it’s my truck because I hooked the trailer to my brothers 4Runner with no issues. I still have the problem

Yeah mine ran the battery down because I parked overnight with my motorcycle trailer not releasing this was going on.

Between this and the radio constantly locking up, Im done. Im seeing the dealer GM over it. I had a service writer tell me “yeah I seen that before, unplug whenever you stop”. 40k for a mid size truck and stuff doesn’t work??
