Nope, just a parked domain, nothing there, it's for sale

 

I have no idea what any of that means

 

I own two domains, one for my portfolio and www.AmericanAutoHorns.com and both of them with hosting only cost me about $60 a year.

 

Means the domain sales company put ads on it so it isn't completely useless to them while they wait for a buyer for it.

 

I would think 'American auto horns' would be a pricey one given the key words, seems like you got a good deal lol

 

Parked Domain is like copyright trolling. The owner of the domain picks keywords that may be popular (diamond-shop.com, ToyotaTrucks.com, mining-expo.com, for example) and lists them for an insane price hoping someone will buy it.

 

all this talk about websites makes me realize I haven't updated mine in forever...good thing I'm employed full time, no wonder I hardly do any freelance work anymore lol.

Fill in the blank with whatever you want. Cars, towing, strippers, coffee, blue Husky puppies, etc.

 

It's getting too long to be reliably typed which is a big factor for companies. You want everything to be easy for a customer to find and buy things from you

 

exactly, which is why I would've thought it would cost you a lot more but I'm guessing you didn't do the "premium" option then?

Lost my business

 

I get responses from my “contact us” form at least every other week of people trying to help me “be on the first page of google”

Oh and not to mention the fact that I have the title “founder” on my LinkedIn I get people all over the world trying to add me every single day who want to market for me. I know they want to sell me something because their title is like “influencer, I help businesses grow, etc.”

 

No idea. GoDaddy and the iCANN fee is only like $12 a year. I own/lease the domain for a whole $12 a year the rest of the money is in hosting.

I think part of the reason GoDaddy is ingenious is because you don't own it, they do. You're just leasing, if you owned it, it wouldn't have yearly rates and renewals

 

the whole "influencer" thing is nuts, the company I work for (back when we had our ecommerce department) would hire outside "influencers" that had huge social media followings to wear a few pieces of our clothing and tag the company, and they'd pay them thousands.

 

Lease I mean. “Own” it.
