The new one looks like what the Ken doll would drive.

Yeah. Jeep claims that 80% of midsize buyers end up with a short bed which is why they didn't even bother offering a long bed for the Gladiator.

I probably wouldnt have gotten a tacoma if it wasnt for the longbed.

I guess it is a niche need, it makes the truck so long lol.

Had it not been for the chrome ring, I wouldn't have changed mine. The black grill itself wasn't bad at all.

I wonder what the percentage is for DCLB vs DCSB in Canada, I never seen short beds here in the Maritimes until very recently, I see one every once in awhile now. And short bed 2nd gens are something I might see once every few months maybe.

I actually like Jeeps, the 2-door Wrangler especially--I think the double cab looks unwieldy on them though, and especially with the bed.

Having said that, I think it might appeal to a niche crowd who need extreme offroading capability, double cab, the bed AND would like to be able to take the top off.

    https://www.autoblog.com/2019/04/02/jeep-gladiator-review/

I was disappointed in the power though. I think a V8 would be preferable, or the diesel if you're not interested in speed. Plus, of course, $$$.

They would very appealing with a small extended cab or a regular cab and the box. That would obviously only appeal to a very small crowd nowadays though, double cab is the most practical choice for a lot of people.

I've always heard the Jeep was the vehicle you wanted to have until you actually had one.

    No thanks.

I've always enjoyed owning my Toyotas

There are still tons of old Rangers around here, I just drove about 10 miles and passed 6 plus 1 here in the parking lot.

4Runner Trail wheels and Toyo Open Country ATII tires 265-70-17. Cosmetic stuff like Pro grille and OffRoad black bumper trim, vinyl delete on side, added hood graphic, OEM tube steps.
Motor Trend just ranked Tacoma 4th out of 4 compared to Ridgeline, Ranger and Colorado. Ouch. Good thing they look as nice as they do.

I know reviewers love the Ridgeline. I find the lack of a MT disturbing. And the un-trucklike appearance.

As far as the others, I imagine there are certain features that are desirable, but on the whole...don't compare to the Taco.

The truck that gets the award is the company that spends the most advertising dollars. Truth is....the automotive media is bought and sold

I follow power tool reviews and its the same thing there. These companies send out free test rigs, merch, swag, etc to these reviewers. Miraculously Ive never seen a downright bad review of a power tool. I imagine its the same thing with automobiles only the $$$ at play is much larger.

They are bullet proof in my opinion, there everywhere around here and nothing lasts here. Island surrounded by salt water where they salt the roads 6 months of the year. Older guys love them who are looking a small pickup to jig around in. The prices on them have only gone up since the new ones came back.

Very surprised the Ridgeline doesn’t have a MT option. I definitely think there is a market for them, almost like an SUV with a bed instead of a trunk. I’m sure it appeals to a ton of people who don’t really want a truck but would like something to throw the kids hockey gear in, pick up mulch, maybe a muddy dog.

Edit: I mean market for Ridgelines overall not specifically an MT Ridgeline

Needed to be regular cab. That would have been the right look.

Spot on, I’d have one if that were the case. I’d also have a reg cab taco if they brought them back.
