I found camper shell that fit a 99 tacoma ext cab.

Will it fit a 2001 Tacoma ext cab?

    Yes.

It will also fit small pickup trucks like the Ford Ranger, or Nissan Frontier. You can’t use an extended cab shell on a single cab, but you can use a single cab shell on an extended cab just with a gap.

Thank you very much! Ext cab is where the seats only have access to the back. And access cab is the suicide door on the cab

Access Cab was the terminology used with Second Gens and beyond (2005+) because they have that rear door.

Extended Cab is basically what you said, only access to the back but two doors. They’re used interchangeably now.

I hate the term "access cab." Sounds to me like it's a Ford for some reason.

I refuse to use it, and will call them extracabs.

Or when people call Double Cabs "King Cabs" or "Crew Cabs"

What Tyler said is true, however it's important to note that the camper shells for an "access cab" is different from one for an "extracab". As Tyler noted, the "access cabs" are the 2nd gens, and have a different body style/shape from the 1st gen extra cabs. The inside bed dimensions are the same btwn 1st and 2nd gens, but I am pretty confident that is will not look right because the body styles are different (the outside bed dimension of the 2nd gens is wider)

know anyone for what? that has a camper shell? You can try the want to buy/for sale section of this forum, but you need to have 50 posts to post there (you can still search there and look around).

King Cab was used back in the 80s and 90s by Nissan for their Hardbody trucks with the space and seats in the back.
