Fyi, unplugging the battery does not reset learning values. Trust me on this
So, you need to get TS and Tactrix cable to reset and "get you truck driveability back"
TS is free, cable is about $170.
Tune is 600, on discount days even less.
    Telling you, day vs night..

I’d pay $600 to fix this issue. Do they have a tune for the howling rear diff? JK.....

I see the price is $600 for one tune, $770 for the other. Whats the difference? I see the price has come down, I think it was like $800 or so when I looked into it.

    Still happy with stock though.

One with cable, one without. Market price for tactrix cable is $170.

I think I hear it. But, I’ll wait a while before I confirm. If it doesn’t get any louder than it is then more aggressive tires will fix it. Ha! I still have my Rays and Wildpeaks in the garage just so the “tire noise” from those aggressive tires argument doesn’t rear it’s head again.

Everything else get sorted, or did you just move on?

Also the Wildpeaks won't give you much road noise, but as you know, here at TW it is better to look good, than to run good, so get to unboxing.

I’m still having a lot of issues and they aren’t resolved. The herky/jerky shifting is over the top. This is something that just started after they replaced my differential and pulled my tranny last time. I’m driving it as much as possible just hoping this is part of a really freaky (and very slow) relearning process for the tranny, going from regular to premium fuel, and about to try ethanol free just because I’m desperate.

I only haven’t mounted up my tires and wheels so Toyota won’t use it as an excuse for all the crap my truck is doing. Geez, this has really been a rocky relationship but there is really nothing else out there that moves me enough to buy it so I am really trying hard to live with this thing. I guess if you see some Rays and Wildpeaks up for sale on the BST thread you’ll know I moved on to the ZR2....lol

I’m 3000 miles in on TSB-0058-18 and it still drives great.

Know the feeling. I dropped my last car 1 inch via lowering springs. Its was amazing the types of things the dealer would suggest could have been caused by my drop. I'll never mess with a vehicle's suspension again until the warranty is up.

I once brought it in to get the hood adjusted as the gaps on the left and right side weren't even from the time I bought it. It always annoyed me so one day I took it in to get it adjusted. The Service guy even tried to blame my drop for that... "you may have bottomed out the car and the impact misaligned it."

Do you have to keep the cable plugged in? If I have 2 Tacoma’s (mine and my brothers) do we need two tunes or can we go half on it

Only during the flash process. You can save some on the cable by going half, but both of you will need your own full copies of the flash

Dear all - this is my first post ever on this site, but this topic and TSB update inspired me to do it. As most have posted on here, the shifting is so horrendous on the original ECU tune that many had considered either trading in and losing thousands or diving in on the OV and potentially voiding the warranty if anything were to go wrong.

Let me tell you this.. BEFORE ANY OF THESE, DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET THE TSB 62 UPDATE. IF ONE DEALER REFUSES, GO TO THE NEXT, AND THE NEXT, UNTIL IT IS DONE. WORD YOUR SYMPTOMS EXACTLY SO THEY MIMIC WHAT IS SAID ON THE TSB SHEET ITSELF.

I got mine done at a Toyota dealer here in the Minneapolis area and it was essentially a no questions asked update - thank goodness. The shifting is so much better in the lower gears now, I love it. While most have said, yes, it's still no rocket, the shifting is much more linear and smooth. I look forward to driving now - what a change!
