No offence, but putting minimal plastic in the landfill / ocean is not related to choosing to drive a vehicle. It’s just common sense.

Not wishing to pollute the environment is something people aspired to long before the knowledge we now have of climate change etc.

It basically the concept of “don’t litter”

How are they not related ? If you decide that both are under the topic of not polluting the earth, they are.

Throwing your garbage on the ground and the efficiency of your vehicle are only distantly related.

A whale swallowing your shitbox RTT is not directly related to your choice to drive a Prius.

Stop grasping to make yourself feel good about that 500lb mold farm you got mounted to your truck.

The average car spews about six TONS of CO2 into the atmosphere every year, not to mention CO and particulate pollution. One person dumping a RTT in a landfill (as you contend people do) doesn't even come close to being as consequential.

Haha holy crap. Gotta remind myself this is the internet. Dude you have a lot of hate for a tent. You actually speak to people like that in real life ? Impressive.

Almost sound like a far wing politician with the grand statements. 500lb haha.
You can say what you want but both the gas guzzler and throwing items into the dump are all grouped under the affects it has on the planet. Phrase it how you want. With all the the shit coming out your mouth the amount of toilet paper you use prob outweighs everyone’s “ RTT trash” here combined.

My opinion is that they are convoluted, dont work very well, cost a ton, and are quite heavy. I dont see why people feel they need to crawl up and sleep on top of their truck, or why they would want to. I'd rather sleep in my hammock. The only valid reason I could see to own one is if you're terrified of bears and aren't brave enough to sleep on the ground or smart enough to sleep far enough away from your cooking area and food storage... and honestly if i were in that camp i'd rather have a .357/.44 mag than a RTT.

So how do you sleep in your hammock if there are no trees?

    A few.
Why not both? The RTT gives you an elevated defensive platform to shoot from.

Good call. I can’t even imagine that butthole puckering experience. Mine are locked in with cable locks as well. I’ll oullnthem off and reinforce the mount with washers. I think I did in the first place but I’ll check. 7E3CD784-BF8E-466C-A2EB-8BB224B0DE97.jpg

They should've come with washers that Quickfist provides with the kit but they're just plastic, so they really aren't worth much...but a simple small metal washer will work 100x better and be safer. The cable lock is a good idea too, I'll look into that myself
