Yea I plan to go around bridges and popular areas in the canal. I’m sure I’ll find a few surprises

Would think dismantling a metal detector and extend the cord. Drop that first and see if any hits. Drop magnet pull up what you can and dive for the rest.

Not sure if you can extend the coil. There would be a certain amount of windings and current going through them. Might throw the readings off.

Never went metal detecting before but wondering if you find a nonferrous metal next to a ferrous metal what kinda tones you would get. If the non ferrous object is bigger and you only get the tones for that you might not know anything else was there unless you went over after retrieval.

I’d definitely want to have some good finds if I dropped money on a wet suit and some diving gear. Only finding some scrap metal and broken fishing lures won’t help you recover the investment of that equipment lol

Just got this in the mail. 1200lb magnet. Was showing it to my daughter and she stuck a fork near it and it ripped it out of her hand. I said you really want to see how powerful this is? We went out to the garage and I stuck it on the back of a vice. I couldn’t get it off. Lol ended up using a 2ft prybar and using that to slide it off the vice. Once it slid off the edge I was able to rip it off when it stuck to the other curved rear of it.

I shouldn’t have any problems getting anything out of the water with this. Well unless it weighs 300lbs or is a under ground pipe lol.
