I'll do the deckplate mod on friday. I think I saw where chris 4x4 had respectable gains. Wish some had the dyno to prove it. Will a 4in fit or go with a 3.5?

I'll do that and take pics/documentation. Looks easy enough.

 

Cant man. It was my first new vehicle and I know everything she has and has been thru. Cant give her up. She's been good to me.

Cmon fella's. a $1k budget and the deckplate mod is like $7.

from everything I have read it seems like everyone praises the deck plate mod. cheapest HP you will ever get! haha

 

can always go with a shot of nitrous, i used to run a 70 shot on a 22RE with 170k + and had no problems

 

Crawl under your truck and grab the Transmission numbers. You should have a A340E if you do their is a way to speed up the clutch pack engaugement and add pressure. If it is the A340E PM me for the upgrade links.

and i heard headers will give you the most bolt on horsepower but they are kinda pricey. i would definitely get a K&N or one of those dry airfilters to go with the deckplate mod

 

Sounds like turbocharging is a no go because (a) you don't want to do it, (b) it costs a lot, and (c) the turbo won't really improve your off-the-line torque due to boost lag.

The problem is it's the only decent way of boosting HP to the extent you're looking for.

If you just want lots of "whoompf" when you hit the gas, why not drive around in 4LO all the time? Then you'll have lots of torque.
