Just started my biggest house project so far. Gutting the living room and dining room, vaulting the ceiling, opening up a load bearing wall from the kitchen to dining room, and building a hearth and installing a wood stove in the living room.

These zip walls are nice to use.

Lol. They come with the zip wall door so you can roll the door up to keep it open.

I was looking at the fastcap magnetic doors. Seems so much easier than zippers.

good deal, they arnt to expensive but always nice to get freebies. hopefully the switch is 10/100/1000

Did he give you heads and a crimper to use for for the cat6? Just ensure that each end is terminated the same way. If he didnt give you heads or a crimper, I recommend the pass through style (cat6 is a BITCH to terminate without passthrough if you are not used to doing it), strip the sheathing so you have 2-3 inches of exposed wires and feed them through one at a time then crimp/cut.

How old is your house? In my neck of the woods before 1980 ceiling tiles were made with asbestos.

The passthrough connectors sound awesome, I just used the standard connectors and they were a bitch, it was also my first time terminating Ethernet as well though.

We finally finished our fence to protect the AC unit, the dogs already removed the thermostat wire once and were working on it again. It’s not perfect but I’m happy with it, first time I’ve built a fence.

Anyone know a trick to get drop in anchors out of concrete with a lag bolt broken off inside? Or do I find myself in “drill it out” purgatory?
    Talking bout these:

    0AF42B1B-900D-4059-9AF0-3DDB97FE8A45.jpg

On a related note I’m looking for a way to bolt down my tube bender in the garage but also to have the ability to remove it without leaving studs sticking up. Any other suggestions for a fastening system that would allow me to bolt in and out repeatedly without risking breaking fasteners every time? My concern with the drop in anchors is that they’d wear over time and would lose their grip but that’s the first thing that popped into mind.

It was built in 1951. The ceiling tiles are original. I believe they are pressed board. Looks like a Masonite type material. Luckily the ceiling tiles come down without breaking or anything like that... just in case...

I haven’t dealt with that yet.. but I was planning on redoing my driveway in concrete to allow the addition of threaded anchors for various reasons. I would imagine that if you can’t get the broken stud out with an extractor set, you might be better off abandoning it and drilling new anchor holes.

    I’m certainly no expert though.

I was able to drill half of it out. Lost three drill bits and the tips of my needle nose pliers in the process. Drilled small holes and broke up the fastener and some of the bolt shaft and was able to vacuum the broken bits out.
In the end, abandoning was the call to be made. :bananadead:
