Anyone have a picture of what the ecu looks like behind the glove box ? I took it off and theres two side by side on the right I'm not sure which one is the ecu.

Mahalo in advance for the stupid question I really just don't want to mess anything up or get the wrong box.

so i also have a 2013. The ECU is not behind the glove box. its behind the dash on the driver side. That little drop down cubby on the left side of the steering wheel... its behind that.

When you look for it, look for something that that has a bunch of wire harnesses plug into.

The dash needs to come off then @Zac of all trades or is this something I can get away with the kick panel?

No you will need to remove the lower portion of your dash. If you can also remove the mounting bolts from the top portion... you dont have to remove it completely, but if you can kinda pop it out, it will give you a bit more room so you can remove the screws mounting the ECU.

There is more than 1 ECU in your truck. Make sure you take out the correct one for whatever you want to do. I am guessing that if your intent has something to do with the supercharger, you don't want the body ECU.

That's correct so that I can get a used one to flash the trd tune in. So not the body ecu. So the ecm? Or which one and where?

    Mahalos in advance!

You are gonna want to pull the ECM.

It is behind the glove box on the right side. To remove the glove box, open it up, and squeeze inwards on the two piece on the side. That will allow it to drop down further and then you can pull it out completely. Once youve got taht out, unplug the ECU and immobilizer, and remove the ECU. There are two 10mm nuts and a 10mm bolt (so 3 total) and then you can finagle it out of there.

Here is what the ECU will look like when you have it out. I have velcro on mine only because it is there to stick to the UCon. Let me know if you have any questions or trouble

Also is it a 2wd or 4wd? the easiest way to figure out the part # is to pull the ECU out of the truck. Very important to get the exact same part # when you're buying one

    4wd

Are we talking the ecu or the ecm? The one drivers side or the one passenger behind the glove box?

OK mahalos! Undo the negative then do those steps. Then do the steps in reverse when I have the number. Easy enough right?

Also, why do some people say ecu and some people say ecm when talking about the TRD flash? What are the differences?
