Back in 2012 myself and 5 other buddies drove a 2010 Tacoma DC and a 2010 extended c Tundra to Idaho to hunt elk. We drove in shifts, three guys to a truck and the Tundra had an enclosed trailer, we were towing out with gear. The Tundra did about 10 mpg per tank of gas. We stopped almost every 250 miles to get gas. Took 40 hours out and 44 back!

Last year I did a solo trip from DE out to AZ and slept on a sleeping platform in the bed. 4,600 miles in 9 days or so, I was 23 and needed a break from work haha definitely do it while you're still young and have the energy to do 10+ hrs of driving. And definitely invest in some sort of a blackout curtain

Hey guys currently half way down to the destination on my road trip, and I realized I have tear on my inner drivers side CV boot. Some grease has splattered around.
I’m wondering if this is a serious issue? Maybe I could tape it to hold the grease?
I did 600 miles today NH to VA and I’m still headed to FL, then back to NH.
    Any and all advice appreciated!!

Yup, the Maine Beer Co has some good stuff. They just opened a new brewery / tasting room in Freeport. I haven't had a chance to visit yet though.. theres honestly so many options around here, its nuts haha

Ill have to look up Forillon National Park. Id like to plan a trip up that way in the next year or two

I doubt tape will hold.. there are several threads on here about torn boots.. From what I gather, its not the end of the world, but dont expect it to last very long. Not sure how much dirt road driving you do, but all that extra dust wont help things

Serious? Not super serious but one of those "should be addressed" type things. You could most likely make it all the way back home without issue.

But swapping a CV is GENERALLY a simple task so you could try to call ahead to a napa (or whatever parts store) and see if someone local doesnt mind helping you out with tools and stuff. I only say generally since its an older truck and an east coast truck (so rust)

As for the greasing flinging around...you can get a ziploc bag and cut it open. Then just use some zip ties (or hose clamps) and wrap the bag around the boot and zip tie. Will keep the grease from coating everything if you care about that

I went from Colorado to Alabama and back in 4 days. Had a blow out on a bridge in Arkansas, but otherwise it was great. I slept in the bed.

When I moved to Colorado I had a Suzuki GS1100 in the bed, and a 4,000lb trailer in tow. Using the Air Lift kit I was running 70mph the whole way in the PreRunner and it did great.

to see my Dad and friends. I make sure it's mostly summer time so I can hit up Rehoboth and OC. :drunk:

Longest I've done is just Sacramento to San Diego/reverse, about 660 miles down the coast highway. It is beautiful, and especially a blast to allow a few days and stop wherever you want along the way:

Me and my wife did around 12k miles over 40 days, from Upstste NY to Chicago, caught RT66 all the way to New Mexico, jumped off into Colorado, Utah, (great sand dunes, arches, monument valley, Zion, etc...) went to Sedona, did Schnebly Hill, way too much to list.

Went through Vegas, Hoover Dam, into Santa Monica, up the coast to Oregon, had to skip Yosemite (forest fire, closed, same with Tahoe).

I’m not listing everything but it was a LOT. My ‘07 V6 4x4 6MT was flawless for the entire trip.
