Dealership......I am the parts manager. LOL that is why I specified retail. I am into it about $600. Not alot of room for mark up in alot of those items. But it is nice having wholesale accounts about anywhere. So if you guys need factory parts.........

I might be interested in a TRD catback (ptr31-35131) depending on how much shipping would be to TX. Is your dealership participating in that 40% off sale TRD is having tomorrow for the 40yr anniversary?

We are not. We have like no online presence. But since you are in Texas. I am sure that TRDparts4u is and they have killer prices to start with. Not many people know this but there are 3 Toyota entities in the USA. Toyota USA, Gulf States Toyota and South East Toyota. We all import our own parts and vehicles and therefore have different costs and accessories. GST and SET are way more accessories heavy and seem to either get their parts for less or just don't care about making money on parts because they sell alot of them for what I buy them for. I am all for giving a great deal to a Toyota freak like myself but I am paid on commission and can not support my family or my habits if I give it all away like it seems they do. But I don't know their cost. So they might not be. Lol. And if you need other than Toyots parts, I have a wholesale account t with a performance company that has a warehouse in Texas for cheaper freight.

Anything worth investing in with this 40% off TRD sale going on? Or should I save my money? I’m thinking mainly intake and exhaust...

I have the exhaust and I like it. The 2.5” opens it up slightly without being too obnoxious.

A 3” exhaust will ultimately make more power, but at the expense of more noise.

Not looking for an obnoxious exhaust on my truck... I’ve got an RSX for that

Does the TRD catback compliment the SC well? Would it be a major choking point when I add an aFe CAI, y-pipe and potentially headers down the road?

Also, I’ll be installing a HC rear soon, I only mention that bc whatever I end up getting, if it’s not custom made, will have to be chopped at the axle.

    Previous setup:

    -2.5” supercharger pulley
    -URD equal length headers
    -JFR equal length y-pipe
    -Magnaflow 59959 cat
    -Vibrant 1142 3” resonator
    -URD 3” exhaust

Max mass air flow logged was around 340 g/s

    Current setup:

    -2.5” pulley
    -URD equal length headers
    -JFR equal length y-pipe w/dual 2.25 cats
    -Vibrant 1141 2.5” resonator
    -TRD 2.5” exhaust

Max mass air flow logged is 325 g/s

There could be environmental differences at the times the logs were taken (a year apart, but both done in winter ~50 degrees).

    A difference of 15 g/s is roughly 17hp at the crankshaft on a 1GR. So about 384hp vs 401hp.

So yes I think the 2.5 is a bottle neck, but not that bad. It’s much quieter now though, which was my main goal. Now at 70mph I can have a conversation with my family.

Nice comparison! I had hoped to log MAF differences when I switched from the TRD to a 3" Banks and then from URD to JFR ypipes, but that pesky 322 g/s max reading got in the way.

I previously had the trd cat back exhaust when I had stock manifolds and y-pipe. I thought it was very tame. I personally like headers and 3" out. Coming from a guy that had headers, no cat, and a 40 series flowmaster 3" axel dump on a V-8 truck:D
