ok so my retard friend just bought these:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-LA...ewItem&pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item45f40f67f6

i thought i conviced him to get the boss bass 1500 like i have but then i was hanging out at his house today and these showed up. He is conviced this is all he needs to install it (whats included in the ebay package) but i am pretty sure he needs an AMP aswell? idk any ideas? he wants to stick with the brand so he was going to get this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/LANZAR-VIBE286-...iewItem&pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item45f43c6d05

i dont know much about audio but wouldnt he need a bigger amp?

Looks like overkill but I don't see a problem using that amp with those speakers.

I took a look at the website. All of the Lanzar MSRPs are incredibly cheap. That along with the in your face style of the logos leads me to a couple conclusions.

    1. Lanzar sucks.
    2. Lanzar's numbers are lies.

I might be wrong but that's the impression I am getting.

tell him to return everything! lanzar is a cheap swap-meat brand. go with name brands like pioneer, kenwood, alpine etc. they cost more money, but theyre good quality... oh, and if your only doin subs then you want a mono amp

Yea, Lanzar is not great stuff. For what he is spending he can get better product. They will hit, I'm sure but the sound quality won't be very good. I would tell him to buy a nice amp to power those things so when he gets rid of them or they blow he can replace just a sub or two and not the amp.a

Agreed, if he had spent $200 or so on the whole set up that wouldn't be a bad deal. but he can do much better for his money. Let me know if you need suggestions, I'll help you out.

When I was 18, all I wanted was loud bass... so I am assuming your friend really doesn't care about SQ.

I had 2 JL 12w3s and they were really loud. Too loud, in fact, to make out much regular radio at times.

He will probably get really loud bass, crappy quality, and will most likely bust within a year.

    To each their own :)

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

Ha if you hooked up a true 4000max watt amp it would rip those subs to pieces

Shit you could hook up a 1000 watt rms Class D mono block and tare them apart.

Lazar sucks tell your buddy to sell them if he can and buy something worth buying and avoid the headache of them falling apart with in a year or less.
