Here I am overnight supervisor for almost a month and I just checked my pay check and I still haven't gotten my raise. I gave up working the midshift with Fri-Sat off for overnights with Wed-Thu off because I was supposed to get a raise. Jon not amused.

On a brighter note, they started deducting my insurance so I guess I need to activate my cards and start going to the doctor and shit.

Depends on where you work, size and amount of difference in the business. I have been over 25 years now with the same place, prior to that longest was a couple 4 year stays. But if you are at a place where you can change roles and responsibilities and even business areas, then it's easier to stay. I never thought I'd be here as long as I have, but I have been able to change up what I do every 3-5 years, so "almost" like new jobs.

This can be true. My employer has dozens of business areas across the globe. I definitely would like to make a long career here. Time will tell. I’ll be starting my MBA in a couple years, and when that is finished I expect a suitable role. If not, adios!!!

On a side note, oil and gas industry is getting hot. I’m getting emails and calls daily for engineering positions.

I've been at my job less than 2 weeks and I'm at my 2nd appointment using my benefits. I'm not playing around about getting the most out of them after not having anything for so long.
