I was sweating to pull apart the knob, I didn’t want to break it. I just went easy easy. Yeah I will ditch the overlay just running it for now till I get some paint. You don’t have the switches yet lol.

Is the Black Permanent Marker holding up? I was thinking of using the marker or black dye.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Looks like tune needs another application. I used a permanent fabric marker and the red is barely showing through evenly on all the threads so it's not that it wore off. Just soaked in. I'll do another coat this weekend.

I know you probably cover this in your vid, but what kind if adhesive do you use to put knob back together.

I don’t use any adhesive on reinstalling. The fitment of the cover is tight as is and doesn’t really need it. Also, it’s easier if you have to disassemble it again(replace switch, painting, etc)

This is just what I needed! Surprised it'll take so many relays. Lol. Thanks!

AAANNNDDD It's out for delivery!!! Probably won't install until I get the relays squared away for the garage door opener.

What i did was wired a 12v to 3.3v converter to the power of the Chamberlain garage remote if you have a Genie, you dont need the converter (chamberlain uses 5v button and genie uses 12v battery). I connected it to the cig lighter circuit for power only when the ignition is on, then i soldered a momentary switch to the same points on the remote as the factory momentary switch. Worked like a charm. You can just wire the right momentary switch on the knob to the remote and your good to go. You dont have to hard wire power to the vehicle, you just need to keep the remote accessible so you can replace the battery if needed. Poor mans Homelink! Done this to all my previous vehicles without homelink.

Weird, my Genie uses a CR2032 button battery which I believe is 3V.

I did totally forget for the remote though it doesn't need the relays. Need to figure out the power of the remote as I don't want to have to worry about changing the battery. Would prefer to wire it up so it's always hot.

Thanks for the reminder though that the relays aren't needed!

    **EDIT:
The smaller Genie remotes use the 3v. Looks like if I pick up a spare GIGANTO remote then it's already 12v so no need for the convertor. Thanks again @TacoTruck808!

Just an FYI I used the free shipping code TRDSHIP but I doubt the order is gonna go through since it's a sales price & after order went through it says the code can't be combined. PayPal is showing it as pending for $63 but dealership isn't showing an order status. Anyone who used the code for free shipping may want to check their status.

Sorry MESO carry on... I'll just wait for a blacked out stage 2 knob

It might have something to do with using paypal. My order confirmation has my payment confirmed at $63 using the code. Checking my bank statement i was charged the $63. The code took $11.93 off from the shipping.
